I have seen this behaviour on my SSD too. For me closing and reopening the program usually fixes it.

I'm leaving that update on my Win8 machine, seems to have no effect for me.
About 6 months ago, I switched all my PC's to Don't download or install, just notify me and that'll be the norm for me for now on.
Same here. I had the problem with a Win7 backup but I have now returned to Win8.1

I got caught by that nasty bugger. Suddenly network diagnostic couldn't start and sfc also displayed some error.

Try changing the ES language code in the URL to anything else. I can't do it. It resets back to ES.

I have just got a GA-X99-Gaming 5 board, i7 5960x, 1 x 8GB DDR4 2100 (I think) and I cannot complete the Windows 7 Windows Experience Index. It just shows an error message when trying to test memory speed. It seems DDR4 is "too new" for now.

You will need to get a third party defrag util for this, and it will probably be non free. Recalling from memory, Diskeeper, Perfectdisc and many other can accomplish MFT defrag. You could install a trial version and uninstall it afterwards. Keep in mind that advertising any other defrag software is not very polite.

Defraggler uses own Windows defragging API which doesn't allow for MFT defragmentation.

512KB bytes per sector could be an issue as far as speed is concerned, but I am not sure. 3GB and 512KB clusters? there must be a gazillion of allocation units.

Windows defrag is actually faster. I think DF current regular algorithm needs to be reworked from scratch.
PS - Hint: Defrag from the file list or run a quick defrag instead. It works perfectly.
PS2 - Defrag freespace aka Fill gaps option is borked at the moment.

Relax guys. It seems Piriform is aware of the issue and it's already working on it. Good thing I check this forum. I will stay with 4.17 too.

Scandisk? that's a minor typo. Scandisk was a disk check utility in older Windows O.S.

Right now the engine version reads 1.1.10904.0
Too bad it seems there isn't any visible changelog as far as MSE is concerned.
By the way: For these people claiming MSE isn't very effective, I am testing a four combo security setup:
MSE + Adblockplus + Mirage Antibot + Malwarebytes Anti-Exploit
Everything is free and it seems to work quite well. I haven't got a virus in ages.

Now that I have migrated to Win8.1 and Windows Defender is not so cool as standalone MSE, I have been testing Avira, AVAST and AVG to see the differences among them.
Under memory consumption I have found...
AVIRA 57,60 MB
AVG 2015 75,00 MB
AVAST 39,00 MB
So, AVAST seems pretty slim in the memory department (I only installed NG as advanced options). The three of them performed equally well but I had a problem with AVAST. It seems there is no way to tell the antivirus of "false positives" and ignore files, or at least, I was not able to find it. If I had to choose among those three, I would choose AVIRA.
