  1. The phone technology has gone a notch higher with the introduction of small integrated yet powerful features such as high mega-pixel camera, GPS system, 3G+ technology, email technology and wireless networking. In the recent past Blackberry, Nokia and iPhone have had tremendous sales. Now Lets keep to Blackberry and Nokia E-series.

I bought a Nokia E-series recently and my friends are wondering why I didn't go for a blackberry  Now tell me...... did I make the wise choice? I wanted faster internet connection HSDPA/3G+ , a business optimized device, QVGA and better display, wi-fi and a sleek phone - and that it!! E-series.

What do you think? ARE BLACKBERRIES BETTER THAN NOKIA E-series :(

  2. Hello, have a look this Results about firewalls and make your own decision. ;)

I can see all products were tested against a suite with 84 tests. I use Kaspersky and I see its highly rated. I'd Recommend it. I've never suffered from networks attacks to the point of crashing. A few shallow ones that are effectively blocked are encountered on a daily basis. Now on Windows Firewall, could I get the link containing the tests it passed to be highly rated. Having it is better than nothing though but free better firewalls are out there like Comodo Internet Security.

  3. Here is a link to the biggest list I have ever seen of malware tools. It has a bunch of rescue disks on it and many other apps I had not even heard of. It's worth checking out. http://www.techsupportalert.com/content/pr...-list-world.htm

Thanks dude. ;) This is cool. Yea some registries do remain behind after un-installation but I was also wondering.......can't CCleaner remove these invalid registries? :( . There are usually so man junk data remaining even after you upgrade, format, bla,bla bla. I have also been wondering.......... where do some space in Hard drive disappear to after formatting your hard drive? if it was 160GB after formatting its 152GB. Is there a shredder out there that can completely erase the Hdisk clean and you get your 160 HD back? :P

  4. I have used Kaspersky for 2 years now. I also use this at the Office. I have also used McAfee and avast. McAfee was not able to pick some antivirus and I suffered a lot from system crashes. I then changed over to Avast which was much better in networks attacks rather than file protection better than Mcafee but still I suffered. I tried Kaspersky for windows workstations and upto now, from 2007 my system has never crashed or attacked online! :D So I stuck to it/ Now, what determines the antivirus to use?

  5. how can i get into the documents and settings from cmd if anyone knows

Are you using Vista or XP?

    1. Press either F8, F9, F10, F12 continuously depending on your system during boot up go to the boot dialog menu and choose the safe mode with command line prompt option and let the computer finalize the booting up process.

    2. A command line prompt will appear on the screen. Now where you go depends on the drive where you had installed your OS, which is usually C:\ but can be any other drive letter like from D:\ to Z:\ . Lets use C

    3. Type "C:\> dir" without the parentheses to go to C drive Directory and check if Documents and Setting Directory is there. You can do the same to the other drives if you are not sure where Documents and Settings is.

    4. Type " cd Documents and Settings" to go to this directory

    5. That simple. You should be able to view your files and even copy paste them between drives. the best way would have however be to have ultimate recovery cd or a Bart's Preinstalled Environment (BartPE) bootable live windows CD/DVD (PE Builder installed) in your system plus your OS installation CD for assistance

  6. You should have uninstalled Avast first. But since this has happened there is a command line version of kaspersky which I am very sure if you visit there help center or forum if any they may be able to help. Am also checking and will reply soon

Antivirus do conflict with one another and you shouldn't install more than one at the same time especially after disabling one.

  7. Defraggler has been really fast on my PC but I have been wondering the case of fragmented files. After successive runs I still have 15% fragmented files. I have noticed this with other de-fragmenting softwares also. I would like to know the Logic behind this. Why is defragmentation in some cases not 100%? :(

  8. Hi frank.

I think you may have misunderstood the function of the System Restore feature in CCleaner. It's purpose is only to delete System Restore points, not to activate a System Restore:

    http://docs.piriform.com/ccleaner/using-cc...-restore-points

It isn't a problem to reinstall FF extensions thankfully, as there isn't a way to get that restore point back I'm afraid.

Yes!! You got me , I checked and you are right . Was I looking under the desk while performing this restore??? :P

  9. I used Ccleaner v 2.21.940 to perform a system restore on a certain machine. The Mozilla Firefox 3.011 addons were installed a month ago. I had chosen a last week date where the system had generated a restore point but no software had been installed recently. To my surprise, all addons disappeared! :o I am being forced to install them back again. I am not sure if I had used the computer default System restore this wuld have happened. Please check on this

  10. Hi. I'm running windows xp 32bit with 3.5GB of ram and I'm trying to recover a 750GB hard drive. But right when it's going to analyze or at the end of searching it says "out of memory" on the bottom of the window. And shows no files. What's going on here? Oh and deep scan Is enabled any suggestions?

For windows Try not to run other programs when recovering. Make your pagefile to be twice your RAM i.e 7GB. Make the initial size equal to the maximum size so that it does not make cycles increasing the Pagefile upto the maximum limit of 7GB. Use your hard drive a slave or flash drive for faster performance via the usb or SATA. Kind reply back on progress.

  11. :( I have been wondering how Recuva works. Some recovery softwares such as GetDataBack require that you first set the recovery HDisk as slave before you try to do some recovery. I am currently listening to music, downloading in the background, posting this thread and at the same time running REcuva. Will this affect file recovery. What I know is that the recovery will obviously be slow but I don't mind.

Well. Thanks alot. Then it means its better to choose a drive different from the one currently running? I mean the drive I would like to recovery from shouldn't be my main drive at the time of recovery? :( In NTFS file system does Recuva follow links to storage places in System32, Registry and Program files such that an uninstalled program can be recovered?

  13. Your friend had more the enough and maybe that's even why you went to help him. All those stuff sometimes conflict slowing the computer.they might even view a system file as malicious!! Ok your working environ matters and what you do.......downloading, surfing, emailing, are all different and we all know what each bring along. A good Antivirus and a SpywareBlaster will do!!! I have been fine with Kaspersky(workstation) antivirus wirh SpywareBlaster!! ;)

  14.

;) Am using Piriform Defraggler version 1.11.148 and it seems fine with me except for the speed of de-fragmenting. I would appreciate if it were a bit faster. In addition, its better if it could be minimized to tray and continue de-fragmenting in the background as I work. I pressed the Close button hoping that it will be minimized

  15. Many services run at startup and in the background that are sometimes not necessary. You will realise that you do not need them all but they are started by default. Many of these services are necessary

for Windows XP to operate correctly. However, many of them are for features in

Windows XP that you may not use at all. You can peruse the services and disable any

service that you do not want to run. The fewer services that run, the more quickly

    Windows XP will boot.

To reduce the number of services that start on bootup, you can access two different

    areas of Windows XP.

1.The first is the System Configuration Utility. You can do that by entering the

command ?msconfig? in the run menu.

Start Run ?msconfig? (without quotes) || Hit Enter

The Services tab shows you the services that start when the computer

boots. You can stop a service from starting by simply clearing the check box

next to the service and clicking OK.

2.Open Control Panel Administrative Tools Services or

    Start Run ?services.msc? || Hit Enter

Take a quick look at common services you may want to live without:

Note that you need to be familiar with the services that are running or you may end up terminating a crucial services that may cause your system to fail. Normally a critical service is automatically loaded during startups but I recommend consulting an expert if you are not sure.
