  1. You could use the brilliant nLite to customize your xp disc and of course remove the windows games, but it does require you reinstalling windows to do so.

    Thanks for the fast reply.

That's going to be the very last resort, I'm looking for a quick win on this one. :D

    Cheers

  2. I've tried to look for this on the net and no one seems to have done this.

How do you uninstall the games which came pre-installed with the PC. Stuff like freecell and spider. I've got no interest in them but can't find the uninstall file.

    Thanks in advance

  3. I don't think that will ever happen, thank gawd. MS likes to keep things in-house, "We've got a secret and we're not tellin' you". Unlike Mozilla who by their very nature is open source and rely on the goodwill of the public fixing many of the little problems that seem to occure. Which is one of the main reasons why I think people take them to heart.

The quicker computer firms stop bundling up IE and let the public choose which browsers they want MS will get the biggest shock of their lives.

  4. IE still holds like 99.99 percent of the browser market so they arent trying to regain competition. I think they are just trying to improve its image.(how people think of it.) What they need to do is throw away active x but thats never going to happen.

Sorry to disagree rridgely, but when FF released 1.5 there was an artical which stated that it was used by 15% of net users, and I think with those kind of stats MS have to sit up and take note.

What they do another thing. Personally speaking I think the damage has been done. They are now fire fighting. I don't think FF will ever take over IE but they will keep eating into their market.

  5. All other problems I've had come from the "biggest virus" known which is Windows and Windows errors or malfunctions.

    Nice One

I once got hacked into in my novice days when I was on the net without a firewall, around 1999. That gave me a BIG wake up call.

Since then I've only ever picked up silly things after downloading and trying to intall dodgy software. Fortunatley my AV package has picked it up and stopped anything major happening. Nowadays I source out only good reliable software, but I say,"never say never" something will aways come along and bite you in the ass.

  6. It sure does. You can also set OpenOffice to save your documents as MS office. That includes Word, Xcel and PowerPoint.

I've only started using Oo and it's really good, if your stuck with anything they have a good support forum too.

  7. I might have stood on a few toes but I did log on to ebay and sent the guy a question asking why he's selling something which is free to download. I'm not really expeecing an answer.

As a matter of interest he's selling a few bit sof software which I thought were free

BTW Mods if I've over stepped the mark here, your well within your right to come down on me.

  8. Hi

You stated that you have run your Av, Spybot etc but you never said if they found anything??

Have you resently install any new software?

    What OS are you using?

Have you tried rolling your PC back to when the problem wasn't there?

I'm no expert, but have you tried Firefox and if the same thing happens?

  9. I use

    - Quicktabpref Toggle

    - Gmail Manager

    - Fasterfox

    - Flashgot

    - Disable Target for download

    - Mouse Gestures

    - Adblock & Adblock filter set G

Just as a another question. How many home pages does everyone have.

I load up 3 at start.

    Imdb.co.uk, google.co.uk, google news.

    What you all got?

  10. well... I don't think that's available in RK Launcher. You can add files but you have to either click / double click it to open.

Yep.. i agree with you englishmen. RK Launcher is nice and very simple.

Well after playing with RK most of the nite I think I've finally got to grips with it. My main problem was I was still running OD, OMG the PC didn't like that

I do feel a bit of pratt, and I do agree englishman it's kinda simple once understand what's going.

Defo a RK convert here. B)

  11. I might give it a go, if it helps keep things simpler. Could you create an icon at the bottom, in which if you put your mouse over it the securitys apps come up from it, e.c.t.

I don't know about RK Launcher, I'm still trying to get to grips with it. Sorry englishman but it's not as simple at OD, or maybe I'm just a bit on the thick side.

Back to the orginal question, on OD you can add any shortcuts you want. In facts it's so easy you just need to drag the icon from your desktop and drop it onto the bar. Once it's there you can right click the icon and make any changes.
