  1. @APMichael

    Are you on Windows 11 22H2 x64 ?

    Do you use the 1.5.8448.28847 winapp2ool and 230224 Winapp2.ini?

    In my case, when checking

    ALL Edge Chromium entries (e.g. Microsoft Edge Bookmark Favicons*, Microsoft Edge History*, Microsoft Edge Bookmark Backup* etc.)

    and

    ALL Microsoft Edge  entries (e.g. Microsoft Edge*Microsoft Edge Favorites Backup*, and Microsoft Edge Favorites Icons*)

    NOTHING is gone/lost/nuked when it comes to the Microsoft Edge Favorites Icons (=FavIcons).

    *** I have made NO modifications when it comes to Winapp2.ini ***

    Even when I corrected the Micrsoft typo, Nothing changed!!!

  2. No, I haven't done something wrong.

    As seen HERE, the latest Winapp2.ini has

    [Microsoft Edge History *]
    LangSecRef=3006
    DetectFile=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge*
    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Microsoft\Edge*\User Data\*|History*;Visited Links*;Top Sites*;Network Action Predictor*;Shortcuts

    which lacks the Favicons* part according to THIS suggestion.

    You could perhaps also check why the entry for the Edge does not work, then you might also have noticed that there is a typo in the path:

    FileKey1=%LocalAppData%\Micrsoft\Edge*\User Data\*|favicons*

    The first "o" in "Microsoft" is missing!

    Even when I corrected the typo, it did Not make any change.

    If you need an Entry to actually Remove the MS Edge FavIcons, you need to revert the changes done HERE.

    Personally, I do Not want either my Edge FavIcons or Firefox Bookmarks Icons Removed.

    In the future, whenever you decide to include winapp2.ini Entries, which aggressively Reset things,  PLEASE, warn the users accordingly.

  4. Once more, to clarify things out:

    Running Windows 11 22H2 x64 Fully Updated with 1.5.8448.28847 winapp2ool and 230224 Winapp2.ini

    -When checking ALL Edge Chromium entries (.e.g. Microsoft Edge Bookmark Favicons*, Microsoft Edge History*, Microsoft Edge Bookmark Backup* etc.), NOTHING is gone/lost/nuked when it comes to the Microsoft Edge Favorites Icons (=FavIcons).

    -When checking Firefox Bookmark Favicons*, all Bookmarks Icons are gone (as expected).

    So, what the Developers will do?

    a) Remove the Firefox Bookmark Favicons* entry?

    -OR-

    b) Add a similar Entry for the Microsoft Edge FavIcons that will ACTUALLY work and remove them?

    Unlike Privacy-Freaks, Average users do Not like Having the Browsers' FavIcons nuked.

    Just like Average users don't want their Browsers & Windows Settings turned back to Default by Aggressive entries!

  5. Here, we go, again. After the Microsoft Edge issueit is Firefox's turn, now.

    Firefox Bookmark Favicons*  checked and all your Firefox Bookmark Icons are gone!

    Dear Developer, you have two (2) options:

    a) Fix it the way you did with Microsoft Edge.

    b) Add the same Entry (i.e. one that will nuke all FavIcons)  to Microsoft Edge.

    As it is now, [Winapp2.ini  Version: 230224]

    only the Firefox Bookmark Icons can be nuked; not the Microsoft Edge ones.

  6. According to THIS, the last stable version of winapp2ool is the 1.4+.

    In the winapp2ool Settings, I have selected Not to participate in the beta builds.

    However, when opening version 1.4.7419.18289, I receive a notification related to a new version 1.5.8448.28847.

    Is this version a Stable one?

  7. I hope they fix soon enough what was described HERE

    Having the Microsoft Edge Favicons removed is something common/average users will not like, too.

    Most users, especially the average ones, want Winapp2.ini  to simply clean things out without Reverting Settings (i.e. turning Settings back to the Default ones) and in turn, forcing users to modify Settings again! I've had a really bad experience with BleachBit, PrivaZer, System Ninja and other ones!!!

  8. Bottom Line

    -Resetting the Windows Explorer View settings  is Not a good idea.

    -Removing the Microsoft Edge Favicons is Not a good idea, too.

    These two (2) entries:

    Windows > Windows Shell*

    and

    Edge Chromium > Microsoft Edge History *

    should have NOT been there in the first place !!!

  9. Windows > Windows Settings*

    and

    Windows > Windows Shell*

    when checked destroy the Windows Explorer View Settings !!!

    Microsoft Edge > Microsoft Edge Favorites Icons*

    when checked destroys the Edge FavIcons !!!

    A Winapp2.ini entry is not the cause, but the entry [Google Chrome - Internet Cache] built into CCleaner

    Maybe CCleaner needs to remove the [Google Chrome - Internet Cache] entry...

    5 hours ago, APMichael said:

    Simply replace "\Google\Chrome\" with "\Microsoft\Edge\" in the path.

    Yeah, I know...

  11. -Excluding Microsoft Edge Extensions, via C:\Users\YourUserProfileName\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Edge\User Data\Default\Local Extension Settings, is the easy way.

    -Finding which Winapp2.ini  entry is actually responsible for damaging the respective Extension

    Country Flags & IP Whois

    and, in turn, correcting Winapp2.ini  is the hard way.

    No he means the latest version of winapp2 which seems to have edited rules that fix the issue you have (caused by your old winapp2)

    I corrected my Post, HERE.

    The last release of winapp2.ini STILL includes entries Logs*  and Session which BOTH damage the respective Chrome Extension.

  13. I updated to the latest version of winapp2.ini for CCleaner.

    Logs*  and Session entries STILL exist

    and the respective Chrome Extension becomes neutralized (i.e. it becomes no longer available via the Right-Click).

  14. I use a Google Chrome Extension called  Translate Selected Text

    For example, I visited THIS web-page, selected text, and translated it:

    x6kjafty3afz87rtn6bp_s.jpg

    When selecting the Winapp2.ini entries: Extensions State* , History*, and Logs*,                                                                                                                                                                    the above Chrome Extension becomes neutralized (i.e. it becomes no longer available via the Right-Click).

    The same happens when I select to clear the Google Chrome entry Session of CCleaner.

  15. It's in the winapp2.ini file already! > [sRU Monitoring Traces*]

    But it does Not clear the Data usage. :(

    Run CCleaner and then check:

    Go to Windows Settings >Network & Internet >Data usage

    It must be 0 MB but it is Not. :(

  16. Entry  Office 2016 as seen here: xpmmivs9jtcp29ddnns_s.jpg

    Changes the Office 2016 user's Options >Advanced related to the

    No. of Recent Documents, Recent Folders, and Quick Access of Recent Documents

    from what the user wants x6ivskjzq4tfl6li76k4_s.jpg

    back to the Default options

    (Recent Documents: 25 - Recent Folders: 20 - Quick Access of Recent Documents: 4)

    When it comes to Privacy,  it is not a wise thing!!!

      :(   :wacko:  :o

  17. [MS Reliability Monitor*]

    LangSecRef=3025

    Detect=HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Reliability Analysis\RAC

    Default=False

    FileKey1=%CommonAppData%\Microsoft\RAC\Temp|*.*

    Can you, PLEASE, check the following two (2) entries?

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\RAC\PublishedData\*.*

    %ProgramData%\Microsoft\RAC\StateData\*.*

    IF you find them harmless, then, you can add them...
