    we want to change the computer "identity" from the seller (old user) to the buyer (new user)

    the only problem is how to change the "old" user's folder name for example (Berdy) in here

    C:\Documents and Settings\Berdy

    Hello!

     

    I want to change the system user name, and I know there is a way to change the user name by copying all the files of the user to a temporary place -> creating a new user and copying the temporary files back, but most of the programs I installed on the current user aren't installed for all users, so if I want to access them through a new user, the programs wouldn't work properly.

     

    So, is there an easy way to change the system user name(profile)?

    snowflakes shows on IE browser not FF. I have already tested it but interested in reading other opinions. I have two laptops their installation are really messy and dying. so I had nothing to lose by giving it a wirl on them. both computers now bootup and shutdown cleanly and fast. but didn't notice any speed regarding applicatios.

    there is no danger at all if one wants to test a software any software, the better way is to

     

    1-install the software through an uninstaller like totaluninstall (the last free version suffices).don't worry restart if prompts to do so, you will find totaluninstall is waiting too. Now if some thing goes wrong the software can be uninstalled from totaluninstall not from add/remove, the reason is that totalunistall will not only uninstall BUT revert every thing including registry. OR

     

    2- turnoff system restore and turn it on again just before installing the software in this way you make sure that system restore won't messup any thing if a restore is desired and to get a restore point that puts the computer back to where it was 100%.

     

    3-although method 1 is enough by it self because totaluninstall will uninstall even the most corrupted installation effeciently . Alternatively,you can backup the registry by using the excellent standalone (zip file) tool ERUNT, in this case uninstall normally (through add/remove) and roll registry back

     

    4- if your heart is still beating fast then do 1 and 2 above in sequence. I only use totaluninstall. system restore is off always. however, I do turn it on before testing.

    I installed 3.5 over 3.4 and worked fine while others had problems and then installed 3.5.1 over 3.5 without turnningoff any protection even custom blocking remain. Am I suppose to uninstall first and WHY. Thanks

    Tray Notifications Cache

    In Windows XP the System Tray (the set of icons next to the clock in the bottom-right corner) orders and hides items automatically for you. Whilst this is useful, it records a list of every program that has been run from the tray. This option clears the list of previous programs and removes any custom display/hide options. (Warning: This won't have any affect until you manually restart the explorer process from the Task Manager.)
