  1. Because the kids won't shut up until they buy it or they keep repeating Wally's parents bought it for him.

Doesn't matter. I kept annoying my parents to get me something, but they wound up grounding me or ignoring me for a good long while. It doesn't matter how much the child wants the thing: it's not suitable for them then it's just not. Using the excuse "...because the kid keeps bugging..." does not excuse the parent: a parent ought to be firm enough with their child or else the child will think he can get whatever he or she wants.

I heard this story on my local news station about 4 days ago. It's pretty sad when we have KIDS wanting to kill their teaching. This is a real eye-opener: our children (children who are supposed to be innocent) planning to kill a teacher.

  2. A word of warning go to Add/Remove programs and see if Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is listed. If it is then uninstall your version first. If the uninstaller doesn't work then you can download the uninstaller here. ;)

That's the first thing I did when I went to uninstall it. It wasn't listed under there, so that's why I just removed the folder. I am going to download the uninstaller, and I will let you know the results. Thanks alot. :)

I just had a similar experience on Amazon.com when redeeming a free Pepsi Points MP3 download, it locked up my whole PC.

o_O That's odd. Did you ever find a solution to your problem?

UPDATE: I tried it, and it still does the same thing it did before.

  3. This problem started a few days ago. Whenever I am on You Tube or any site that uses flash, the flash player will hang randomly. Before it has never done this.

I have reinstalled Firefox (using clean uninstall as shown in MozillaZine's clean uninstall guide). I have tried reinstalling the plugin (via going to application data and finding the file and removing it). I've tried virus scanning (and that doesn't remedy the problem), and I've tried anti-spyware scanning (still doesn't remedy the problem). I've also verified that the plug-in and the browser are the latest versions available

Does anyone else know what the problem could be? Thanks in advance for any help.

  4. To be honest if your parents aren't great with computers and dont care about learning then your better off just keeping the windows firewall on and installing a good AV program. Then of course switch their browser to firefox+adblock+ site advisor. Tell them to stay off "red" sites and they should be good.

Comodo is terrible about giving pop ups about every little thing(even with the hips turned off) and its also very buggy. Just look at all the releases they have for fixes and how bad the bugs they are fixing are.

That's because they decided to upgrade the firewall to a newer version (who knows why). Also, if you configure it correctly, you shouldn't have so many pop-ups annoying the crap out of you. Then again, if you're not willing to configure a firewall Comodo can be very annoying. The newest version seems to be stable, and not as retarded as the Beta version they released some months back.

  5. Where did you download your copy of Spybot Search and Destroy from? Did you download it from their main site?

If not, it's no wonder why you had all those troubles: the host site could have had hosted a virus riddled version of Spybot.

I've never had the problems you had with spybot. When you're looking for new programs it's always a good idea to download the program from the author site, and it's a good idea to verify what you're downloading by just looking at the site (does the site seem trust worthy?)

"...the SPYBOT software downloaded, or their forum."

I highly doubt that becuase I download from their forums all the time and I had no problems whatsoever.

  6. Maybe this helps.

Ironically enough, I found that whilst looking around for fixes. I found an older version of that and saw that it was not compatible. I did not know they updated, nor did I get the idea that they would update it anymore since I didn't see any new versions on the net.

I'll try it and see how it fairs. Thank you very much.

  7. Is there a way to remove this via registry edit? I know I read in a previous post that there is a way to remove it by altering registry, but I need the specifics on this.

Thanks in advance for any advice anyone can give me.

On a side note, this is a good experience for me to see how the registry works (I am not haphazardly removing or adding entries seeing as I can screw up my system that way).

  8. Does anyone know a way where you can get other language (such as Japense) packs installed on Windows XP without having to use Windows XP CD? I was just wondering if there was a way to get other kinds of languages. I know for sure that I just installed some fonts that a friend gave me and that seemed to work.

Thanks in advance for any response.

  9. Is there a suggested, universal boot sequence one ought to use? I just went in and changed the boot settings for CMOS, and I was wondering if anyone has heard of a suggested sequence that users should use...

Thanks you for a response.
