  1. Thanks for posting that.

I noticed the issue when I reformatted my laptop a couple weeks ago and then ran windows update. That program doesn't really do anything all that usefull so I wasn't too annoyed, but its good to know that they fixed it. :D

This error occured because of Microsoft security update KB925902 On April 3/07. No need for the Hotfix Patch if you update Realtech soundcard.

  2. It seems SPAM has increased dramatically. I use Thunderbird with the SPAM filter but continue to receive a large amount of un-wanted SPAM.

Is there any way (software) to stop or at least limit it?

You can give ePrompter a good try............don't even have to have email client open to check all mail on Up to 16 accounts. I wouldn't be without it.

  3. I added the following lines to my autoexec.bat file:

    cd C:\WINDOWS\Intern~1

    echo. 2>emptyfile.tmp

    copy emptyfile.tmp tvDebug.log

    del *.tmp

This will replace the tvDebug.log file with a zero length file each time you reboot. It also has the added advantage of deleting any tmp files left over by ZoneAlarm in the "Internet Logs" folder.

Is this now what the bat file appears as:

    cd "%windir%\Internet Logs"

    xcopy /y "tvDebug.1" "tvDebug.log"

    attrib +a "tvDebug.log"

    exit

    cd C:\WINDOWS\Intern~1

    echo. 2>emptyfile.tmp

    copy emptyfile.tmp tvDebug.log

    del *.tmp

  4. What windows are you using? I think I remember you saying ME right?(if so what are you using to theme it?)

It just looks to me like the theme is flawed. I've seen things happen when changing themes where the spacing isn't the same but usually it fixes itself if you close/reopen the program.

Maybe try shutting down and then reopening the software your using to theme windows.

Hi rridgely.....it's not my machine but the newb is using XP SP2. He is using desktop architect & desktop themes. As mentioned to andvari he is on another forum seeking a solution. Most of the young folks here appeared to be quite knowlegable about various applications and programs so I thot I may be able to find the answer for him HeRe.

  5. it could be just the program itself which sucks. it is actually possible to make an application do that. but most of them resize their controls. maybe somebody messed up while coding it.

How do you know the program sucks "murder face".........have you used or tried it?

  6. ....well there you go AGAIN Andavari (jumping to conclusions) putting down someones theme or desktop. Have a look at the thread at Computer Haven forums under Programs/program problem. He is a newbie (Vern) trying to get this fixed. I know there are a few (I thot) techies on this forum who may be able to shed some lite on the problem. I was wrong I guess. But, thanx for the reply.......

  7. Hello, I didn't know exactly where to post this, so I am placing it here. I have heard that this software is fantastic. HOWEVER! You aren't really supposed to use it when you are running Windows Media Center? How come? Is there any way to get around that?

...when you say "this software" I'm assuming you are asking about cCleaner!? I am using Windows XP Media addition and it works just fine. Have been using it since WindowsME.
