Publisher

Copied defrag.exe from system32 to systemroot, changed 2 defrag tasks accordingly, and now the full MS name is shown. I don't get it....

Still the question remains: Where is the secret hiding place that CCleaner is getting this info from.......

Thanks again to all. Don't like this blog because one cannot make individual replies. OS is MS 7. Reason is I hate inconsistencies......

I am using CCleaner, Version 6.0 9.10300. When I open Tools>Start Up>Scheduled Tasks, I see the following: Key = Task Program = ScheduledDefrag Publisher = Microsoft Corp. File = %windir%\system32\defrag.exe -c Key = Task Program = ManualDefrag Publisher = Microsoft Corp. ALL of the other tasks published by Microsoft show Publisher = Microsoft Corporation. Using Resource Hacker on defrag.exe shows the Company Name as Microsoft Corporation. Task Scheduler shows the Author of both of the above tasks as Microsoft Corporation. I have NO Registry keys showing Microsoft Corp. Where is CCleaner picking up the name of Microsoft Corp. for these tasks? Thank You.
