Hello to the CC community.
I have been using CC for I believe 20 years now and have seen good business decisions made about the core program and the more recent capability enhancements.
I have had a professional license for a few years and it has been worth it.
I enjoy people talking about "cleaning the registry" and the impending doom of doing so. With CC I have hammered the registry once, and it was my fault for terminating the application while it was still processing. I make it a point to torment Win 10's registry and see how far I can get to have enough resources to go back in and fix it. All I can say about what seems a waste of time to many happens to be the greatest learning tool to understand what the registry is, what it does, and why it exists. I suppose that one needs a passionate curiousity about it, BSODland is nowhere to spend time unless the sacrafice was in some way worth it.
CC has been reliable to me for all the years I have used it, and consider it the last "real" piece of software as others I have respected in the past went off the rails, like Symantec.
Now that I have that out of the way, I would like to ask the community about my inability to submit my license key to unlock a new install. The only dialogue I get is the attached error message saying it is not my fault (how unusual!). Error code: ALPHA (0xAB000003) I have attempted several times and can't get it to accept my key.
Please take a look at the attached image and if anyone has any background, I would like to hear from you. I was going to uninstall, then surgically remove any traces in folders and carefully examine registry entries, then reinstall to see if I can alter the outcome. But then I thought if it is Piriform's license server, R&R of the application would then be only self-flagellation.
I would like to say thank you in advance for any guidance, and I wish the community to dwell in Peace and be the examples that the world seems to be short of these days.
With my greatest respect,
