please implement auto-update

I think it would be nice to implement an auto-update feature.

I find the mere auto-notification about an update's availability not satisfactory, because you guys update very frequently, and somehow there is an annoying excess of navigation through your website to actually reach the file to download. In any case I always want to get the latest update, so if I click 'yes' to the notification box, can't you just fetch the damn thing and silently update it for me?

Of course, for configuration parameters should be in place for this feature enhances, like there are with most programs. Those that come to mind are 'automatically download updates' and 'automatically install updates'.

Do a search on "Auto Update" in this section and you will see it has been requested lots and lots and reasons (not from the devs) to maybe why it has not been implemented.

So I register to post this suggestion too to find out it is just ignored. I guess I'll turn off the check for updates feature. All the future work the developers do will just go to waste for me. It's a shame but I'd rather stick with these features than redownload ccleaner every time I run the program. No point of it even installing.

If members look around the various sections of this forum, and take note of the number of suggestions made for four completely individual programs, they would realise that it is a complete non starter to expect the developers to reply to every single one of them, let alone embark on the impossible task of implementing them all.

These are suggestions for features, and suggestions only. You post your thoughts, and the developers read them, and some are replied to by members for various reasons, and some are eventually implemented.

You wouldn't get any more than that, and probably a lot less, from the paid support teams of expensive commercial software.

Lets be real, and appreciate first class free software for what it is, and if you have to occasionally check the forum, or click a simple, single link to check for an update, then there isn't a great deal of effort in that.

And remember not everyone wants a product to auto-update. I personally disable this feature in every piece of software on my PC, except for my A/V. And this includes all Piriform software, as I prefer to take the trouble to check at my convenience for an update, and then download the installer for a more reliable off-line installation.

And of course, all Piriform software installs straight over the previous version for an easy update to the next.

And finally, don't forget the free support forum manned by volunteer helpers. You get a hell of a lot for nothing here.

End of rant.

That should be an option also. But first the auto-update feature needs to be added. Then the users can pick enable/disable the auto-update feature.

And every time you got to pick the same install options. And lets not forget to uncheck the stupid yahoo toolbar install.

Don't take this the wrong way, I love this software and it's by far the best disk cleaner out there (thanks devs, you guys do a great job). I think the auto-update feature is way over due. Even if it takes a donation or something I think the members would show how much this feature is needed/wanted.

quake101 why not just use the slim version of ccleaner...no toolbar.

Personally I don't use auto update on my software.

In life there is always a price for everything, the price for ccleaner is no autoupdate.

And don't be too sure that folk would be willing to shell out to cover the cost of it. :)
