hiker
After running CCleaner Windows tab I also ran NIRSOFT "iehv" (IE History View) which listed over 1400 items in History to be deleted. Also every time I run CCleaner Applications tab it reports the same thing even after running Run Cleaner. I can click Analyze 10 times and its the same. blackdog06
I love this product but it just screwed me good ! I hit in a futile attempt to reduce my system overload the little button under advance that says User Assist History I just went to send a email and MY EMAIL IS GONE!!!!! It has reverted back to outlook express 6 and EVERY LAST email I ever had IS GONE! Since when is user assist history connected remotely with with all outlook express files?? I am going to loose thousands of dollars if I can't get my mail corrected.
Moderators hazelnut Posted December 20, 2007 Moderators Share Posted December 20, 2007 I can see no reason why doing what you did would result in the problem you have. When you say you had a system overload, what did you mean? Have you tried system restore? You may still be able to view your emails using this http://www.snapfiles.com/get/dbxviewer.html Support contact https://support.ccleaner.com/s/contact-form?language=en_US&form=general or support@ccleaner.com
Trooper
Just wanted to mention that using Firefox V3 Beta 2 with CCleaner v2.03.532 does not delete the cookies from Firefox. If you need more information or would like me to test something further, please let me know. Thanks.
blackdog06
When you say you had a system overload, what did you mean? My system has less than 100 MB left and I need to order a newer fatter HD since this one is OEM and only 10 GB Have you tried system restore? No system restore possible see previous answer. Also what is this that CCleaner isn't removing foxfire files I am running Firefox/2.0.0.11 is it deleting them with that version?
JDPower
Just wanted to mention that using Firefox V3 Beta 2 with CCleaner v2.03.532 does not delete the cookies from Firefox. FF3 is Beta, it will not be added to CCleaner till the final version is officially released.
Babou2003
to do a print screen, you need to find a button/key on your keyboard that say "print screen" or something similar. press it when you want to capture the current screen. then open up a image edition program (microsoft paint for example) and then paste it. save it. hope this help. Well your explanation is correct to the point of where you have to save. When you are on the process to save this file there are options how you would like to save your file. It would be better to save it with the option JPEG because it is smaller than the option default to BMP.
pfge
Your CCleaner was a great tool for me when I used your version CCleaner 2.03.532. However, after I downloaded the newest Version v2.04.543, CCleaner prevented my computer (Windows Vista Basic) from startup. The computer indicated that the recent downloaded software caused this problem. Therefore I removed the newest version. My computer reboot normally right now. Is there any bug? Where can I regain the older version back? I have Winpatrol tool installed. But the older version didn't cause such problem.
Moderators Andavari Posted February 16, 2008 Moderators Share Posted February 16, 2008 Where can I regain the older version back? Filehippo.com archives old software versions of CCleaner here, just look on the right hand side under the current version for the one you want. I have regained the older CCeaner 2.03.532. It ran very well in my computer. I am also interested in knowing if the newest CCleaner v2.04.543 has a bug to stop startup of Windows vista basic in my computer. Hello pfge, This is the first time that I have heard of this. Something may have happened during the download of the new version. Did you try downloading the new version again? Does the same start up problem happen again? Can you copy the exact messages you get for us? What kind of security programs do you use?Winpatrol version? Any other security programs? Thanks for your help, davey Edited February 16, 2008 by davey
pfge
davey: I have individually tested the two recent versions of CCleaner again with my Windows Vista computer two more times. They are now working fine with Windows Vista "alone" . Activating both WinPatrol and CClearner during startup did cause this problem. So I think that WinPatrol and CClearner may compete for the control of Windows startup. I really like your CCleaner. So I have removed the newest WinPatrol version from my computer. I also used Norton security 2007 and a-squared anti-malware for security. Thank you for your help.
Trooper
FF3 is Beta, it will not be added to CCleaner till the final version is officially released. I figured. I assume this is the same reason that it does not work with Opera 9.5 beta? Kind of strange since they both install in the same area.
Guest_Jim_*
Could easily be wrong here, but I think that CCleaner looks to the registry to know where the files are to remove, so unless you have both the beta and a final version that have all of their temp files in the exact same folders, CCleaner wouldn't know to clean them. davey
Hello Guys (Trooper,Guest_Jim_*), Explore C:\Program Files\CCleaner Look in winapp.ini and you will find what apps and what files are being cleaned.Look in the Code list in this link and you can setup your own winapp2.ini to clean what you want. You have to maybe PM each other or put out the word in a Post.I bet Twisted Metal may already be working on this.If not, maybe a courteous request would help. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1110 Good Luck, davey Edited February 19, 2008 by davey

If WinPatrol is conflicting with CCleaner,it will help us to know exactly which version of WinPatrol you were using.A Post to them from you would also be a good idea.Popular software developers do their best to avoid such conflicts and a fix is usually made very quickly. Thank you for your reply with all this good info. davey P.S.If you were or are using Norton and possibly A-squared then the conflict can also be caused by more than one real-time security program being run in the background. See this link and also see his other links (buttons on the left) Great info from a Professional and another honored Moderator on our forum.Too see a list of our great Global Moderators and other honored Forum Moderators click on MY ASSISTANT at the top of this window. http://internetrotsyourbrain.com/rridgely/freesoftware.htm You must have some security program startup immediately!!! This is important !!! For now you may not want to run CCleaner automatically at startup and run it manually until the conflict is resolved. If you have to turn off security, run CCleaner when you are off the net. Then immediately turn security back on. It works well with Norton and A-squared. But I would like to thank you for providing the precious information about the possible conflict between Norton and A-squared. I'll study the links you suggested later. For WinPatrol version, it is "14.0.2007.1". Let me know if you find something wrong. I set up my computer to run CCleaner automatically at startup now. WinPatrol has been removed.

A-squared Free should pose no problem.Other A-squared products include real-time processing and will cause conflict or slow-down running against Norton. davey

WSoxRock
Hi. Program works great. Just one small GUI issue. When I use my scroll wheel on mouse, the text in the registry cleaner grid have a strikethrough affect. But if I click and drag the scroll bar, it clears up. This started happening when the GUI changed a while back. Not a huge deal, just wanted to bring it up. Thanks for the great product!!

EuropaNET
Hi everyone, In order to help diagnose problems, specifically if the program shuts down after pressing "Run Cleaner". Can you select each of the options on the tree individually and then report which one it closes down on. This will speed up the release of any fixes. Hi, I?m Alan from Brazil! The CCleaner is perfect! I use in all clients and do donations when is possible. But only one "error" I found. The command typed in "Run" option (Start menu) isn?t cleaned! It?s error. My CCleaner I keep all options in default. Tks * The english isn?t my first language, sorry about errors!

Hello EuropaNET, The clearing of the Run in Start menu does not happen until you log off to switch users or log off and log back on or you reboot. Don't forget a new update to the CCleaner Guide came out Feb. 06,2008. http://forum.piriform.com/index.php?showtopic=1504 Thanks for taking your time to make a report.
