Cumby
I ran CCleaner for the first time the other day and now I have noticed that when I print, I no longer get the printer icon that appears in my system tray while a print task is working. I tried to open the print acitivity manaully and it was blank during an active print. I dont have any way to manually stop the print task. Could I have cleaned off something needed by my printer. I did not clean the registry or do any of the advanced tabs. I also have disabled some startup programs using WinPatrol, but I dont see anything that is related to my HP printer. Should I try uninstall/reinstall ofthe printer driver?
JDPower
I also have disabled some startup programs using WinPatrol, but I dont see anything that is related to my HP printer. Should I try uninstall/reinstall ofthe printer driver? One of the startup programs sounds the most likely cause to me (though having a HP printer myself I have found the software to be pretty unstable and end up reinstalling about every six months). Try enabling the startup programs you disabled, if that fixes it you know its one of them. You can then disable them one at a time to avoid disabling the needed one (if that is the cause).
