Admin MrG Posted August 25, 2006 Admin Share Posted August 25, 2006 Hi all... I've produced a potential fix for the Issue Scanner where issues are not getting fixed even under an admin account. But I need people who have to problem to test it. If that's you then reply to this post and I'll forward you the file to test. Admin MrG Posted August 28, 2006 Author Admin Share Posted August 28, 2006 Just checking, but did these computers have the issue before you used the latest version? I'm test it on two computers with admin and local admin privileges and have no problem with Issue Scanner. Moderators Andavari Posted August 28, 2006 Moderators Share Posted August 28, 2006 Tarun..how did you recreate the problem? Although I can't speak for Tarun it should be easy enough to envoke by opening RegEdit and removing the permissions on either some known entries that get flagged by the Issues scanner, or by creating some bad entries without full permissions which cause the Issues scanner to detect them. zaphirer
Does this mean the issue where issues (redundant, I know) aren't being deleted? If so I'm having the same problem. WinXP Home, only user and admin.
DJpailo
Well I can't delete 100+ keys and I am an admin.. But Zaphirer is helping me rectify the problem http://www.lavasoftusa.com http://wiki.lunarsof.../PC_Maintenance
Admin MrG Posted September 4, 2006 Author Admin Share Posted September 4, 2006 Thanks for the responses on this issue. I've attached the file for other people to test, as I want to ensure it works in as many cases as possible. Can you post your replies to this including your system specs. And please only use this file if your having problems with the Issue scanner not removing items. Moderators TwistedMetal Posted September 4, 2006 Moderators Share Posted September 4, 2006 I can reproduce this on my test PC. The beta still does not fix the issue. Admin MrG Posted September 6, 2006 Author Admin Share Posted September 6, 2006 Hi all, I've isolated most of the problems, but want to make sure the fix is as wide ranging as possible. So can somebody/everybody post the exact steps they use to reproduce the problem? (Please note that only admin accounts should be used. Most issues won't be removed if a non-Admin account is used. This is a feature of the OS not a bug.) Thanks MrG Piriform.com - [CCleaner - Defraggler - Recuva - Speccy]
Canary
I've got the problem right now. I'll test it, if you'd like.
