peteseddon
I wanted to replace my spinning hard drive with ssd, so saved system to usb flash drive, opened up laptop, fitted new ssd, reinstalled windows from usb. When all up and running, downloaded speccy, which to my surprise showed the previous hard drive (tho wrongly describing it as a ssd), not my installed Samsung evo ssd. Checked out Belarc Advisor, which showed the ssd correctly. How can i make speccy see the new ssd ? 'HGST HTS545050A7E680 (SSD)' - as shown by speccy 'Samsung SSD 860 PRO 512GB [Hard drive] (512.11 GB)' - as shown on Belarc Advisor
Klaatu1
Same issue as yours with Speccy 1.32.774.
Guest johnccleaner
That's quite curious. Can you confirm that you're generating a new scan in Speccy instead of opening it by running a Snapshot that you took earlier? Speccy doesn't save any data about your computer, unless you choose to save a Speccy Snapshot. That's why it take a bit of time before system status is available when you first run the software, it's querying Windows about what devices are connected, their status, etc. So, the only way that Speccy can find out about that drive to show is if something in the WMI service is telling Speccy about it. Would you mind trying the portable version of HWiNFO, located here: https://www.hwinfo.com/download/ and letting me know if it also shows the conventional hard drive?
