jpmamatrain Posted February 14, 2017 Share Posted February 14, 2017 I just accidentally deleted from my Sandisk SD card about 120 pictures that I intended to copy first to my hard drive. I installed the free Recuva, went through the guided steps but ended up with it finding photos that say unrecoverable. Rather than the typical IMG_#### that they are usually styled, they have only MG_####. It found over 400 photos, but they say unrecoverable. Any ideas of what else I can try? Please?? Moderators Augeas Posted February 14, 2017 Moderators Share Posted February 14, 2017 Your card is most likely FAT32 and when a file is deleted the first character of the file name is altered to x'E5' which is non-displayable, and the first two bytes of the file address are set to zero, Regarding the latter Recuva is probably looking in the wrong place for the files.
