Tony747
Hi, My HDD has been defragged in the normal way and then I defragged the file list. After do this my system ran much faster in all respects, I then defragged the freespace and then noticed my system was not running as fast, files would take more time to load up. So I am now defraggling free space (allowing fragmentation) in hope things will run much faster again. I have read the help files on this but don't really understand what the difference is? Which is better with or without fragmentation? Thanks
eL_PuSHeR
These settings are bugged. Both of them will create some random fragmentation. This is a long standing bug I don't know why it isn't fixed.
Tony747
Ok thanks, so best not use them just stick with normal defrag and boot defrag then until bug is fixed.
eL_PuSHeR
Well, you can always do a fast free space defragmentation and manually defragment remaining fragmented files from filelist. On the other hand, the freespace defragmentation in DF isn't very thorough but it's fast.
