thoste
I specified that CCleaner should clean all Temporary Internet Files and overwrite them with 1 pass. This operation lasts occasionally here 10-20 minutes (even on a quad-core system). When I look in the output window then mostly files like D:\temp\Temporary Internet files\Content.IE5\XYTHXA41\foobar.xxxx are wiped. I guess these are cached files for Internet Explorer. Now lets assume I open IntExp (9) BEFORE the CCleaner ends and visit some web pages. Is the content of these new pages wiped as well? Or does CCleaner at first get a complete list of all files to wipe and ignore new added files during wiping processing? Second question: Can I lower somehow the wiping process priority? newbie12345
dear thomas, if you read my post under weird you will by now know/be aware that cc does not securely wipe/clean browser history. As a product it does not appear to be alone in this act. If you are using win 7 you probable see a command box flash then anothe rwindows box appear saying browser history being deleted. Cc is forbidden by windows from doing the job itself. If you doubt what im saying run recuva and you will see your history and temp int files. Even asking recuva to securely overwite these files is not as good as it was in xp. The best thing iv found, although it takes time, is to use drive wiper freespace on cc overwrite once. It works brilliantly and when you rerun recuva, all will be gone. as i said earlier im really angry that cc and its associated products are not being allowed to do what it says on the tin thanks to microsoft interference.
