No Sound after ccleaner

What operating system do you use??? ( Vista, XP, Windows 7)

First, check if your speakers or headset are plugged properly on the back of the PC and are turned on. Make sure they are set to maximum volume as well.

Second, check the computer's sound volume by clicking at the icon that looks like a speaker on the side panel. Make sure it is not muted.

Dust the inside of the CPU cause dust can make things not work.

Verify if you have made a backup of the registry entries if you fixed any with CCleaner.

Verify if there are any malware infecting your computer.

Verify if there are any other people who have used your computer. Maybe some of them are responsible.

With the help of someone, check your computer's BIOS if the sound device is enabled.

Do system restore to a date before last Wednesday, the date you said your sounds disappeared.

To do a system restore : Start> All Programs> Accessories> System Tools > System Restore and just follow the step by step procedure and make sure you restore the system to a date before Wednesday.

If none of the above techniques work, get your motherboard's setup CD if you have it and reinstall the sound driver.

Or you can try doing Windows Update as that can also download new and updated sound drivers for you.

Note that older sound drivers tend to not work over time so maybe you can download a new sound driver from Windows Update and restart the computer for that to take effect but do this after none of the above techniques work.

If that still does not work, maybe there is a physical damage to your hardware.

I love computer maintenance tasks.

Some of my favorite programs:

Wordpad -basic word processing

Notepad - temporary clipboard and basic scripting module

Windows Media Player 12- video, music and online radio player

Windows Media Center - live TV, local FM radio

CCleaner- handy computer maintenance tool

If something fails to work after using the registry cleaner, use SYSTEM RESTORE.
