psycho_fling Posted February 27, 2010 Share Posted February 27, 2010 Hi all I have recently downloaded a version of CCleaner from cnet.com and it downloaded and instaled fine However i set it to delete my internet history cookies and other things like that, however when it said 100% i went to check on the drop dwon menu to see if the history was there and it was, i restarted my pc then looked again and they had all gone. A little later on i went on pc and loooked again and all the histroy was back again???? why has this happened and what do i do? thought i had solved it but i hadn't? help i want to make it work as it looks like a great bit of software thanks alex Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
Eric2 Posted March 1, 2010 Share Posted March 1, 2010 Hello, Windows will recreate anyway after a reboot the History folder and the Temporary Internet Files folder even if you had removed them previously; this is fine. What is really worth cleaning when you wish to clean them is to have their contents deleted... Do you know what use are those folders for ? You were talking about the folder C:\Documents and Settings\your_account\Local Settings\History weren't you? (Windows XP) Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
