Evan97TJ Posted May 19, 2009 Share Posted May 19, 2009 I updated to the current version of CCleaner (2.19.901) and now everytime I run it, it gets stuck at 5% on internet explorers index.dat file. I even tried un-checking the index.dat box. I'm using IE8.....any ideas on what's wrong? I have not tried uninstalling and reinstalling yet.... The program still seems like it is functioning as I can hear the processor working, but there is no progress change....I've waited as long as 10 minutes. If I click on cancel, then the program locks up and I have to shut it down with task manager. Thanks for the help. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

I'm going to uninstall and switch back to a previous version....Seems like my recent upgrade to IE8 is the problem....Any help is appreciated.... I've noticed the same behavior; it happens even if I leave index.dat unchecked in CC. Try leaving "History" unchecked, or go into IE and clear the history there before running CC.
