continuous Junk Removal

On CCleaner V2.13.720 when I run the cleaner it finds the junk files like it should but, then when removing its continuously empties just the recycling bin. When I click on the "Cancel" button, it says its removed the files. I have no clue if its actually removing it or not. The program doesn't crash or anything. I've also unistalled and reinstalled the program as well. I'm on vista sp1 with all the latest updates for my drivers and windows. Here's a pic on its 9th pass through to see if it was doing anything. Also I defrag and check for errors quite often. As well spyware, reg cleaning and defraging on daily a basis.post-24468-1225912653_thumb.jpg

Hi SSJ, and welcome to the forum.

Sorry you've had to wait for a reply. I'm wondering if you have a problem with the Recycler. Maybe a corrupt folder.

Can you delete the stuff I see in your screenshot manually?

My suggestion would be to "Enable Hidden Files And Folders" by going to "My Computer\C:", and from the menu select Tools\Folder Options\View\Scroll down to the "Show Hidden Files And Folders", and select that box.

In XP you would now see the "Recycler" folder, and then you would delete that folder using "Shift\Delete", as you don't want to send it to the Recycle Bin, which you're busy getting rid of.

In Vista, it's slightly different I believe:

Make sure you can see hidden- and system files. In computer, click on your C: drive and locate the file $Recycle.bin and delete it. Click 'yes' to the warning. A new $Recycle.bin file will be created.

In XP the new Recycler is created on re-boot. I'm not sure if you have to re-boot with Vista, but I would anyway, and remember to hide those folders again.

Hope that helps.
