A two-year-old Nano, the most popular edition of the iPod, caught on fire in Danny William's pocket.

He was working at the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, according to a telephone interview with his mother Elaine, when a fire broke out in his pocket. In the fifteen seconds it was smoldering, the flames got up to his chest. Danny thinks that some glossy paper in his pocket protected the flames from burning him.

Apple has sent a packet to him to return his Nano. Representatives were not immediately available for comment.

Lithium-Ion batteries are contained in iPod models, which were a problem earlier this year. Laptops from brands such as Apple, Dell, and Lenovo, had a recall placed on them because there were reports of their batteries catching on fire.

Simplicity is hard.
