thom0573
sorry if there's been another topic this title, but I didn't find it. I check the box for delete index.dat, but it never gets deleted. Once I saw a message that said the computer needed to be rebooted for the delete to take effect, but rebooting didn't do it. Haven't seen that message again since. Any ideas? YoKenny
I check the box for delete index.dat, but it never gets deleted. index.dat files are special Windows files and never will be deleted as Windows will recreate them after a reboot. I use Index.dat Suite to clean the index.dat files and I use its ability to defrag the hard drive upon reboot while there are no active applications running that can slow down the defrag process. After running Index.dat Suite then insuring the Setup is set to the way I want I start the reboot then go get a cup of coffee and turn on the TV to the CBC news channel and peek over at the monitor to see when the defrag has finished.
