DJJ123
I am currently using Windows XP and have successfully been using CCleaner for some time now. However, I do have a few suggestions for additional features that could be included with the program. Firstly, it would be nice to see an option to clear the icon cache. Over time, certain icons may be displayed incorrectly and this situation can usually be resolved by clearing the icon cache. For Windows XP, this information is stored in a hidden file located at "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\IconCache.db". Upon deletion, Windows automatically recreates this file as and when required. Secondly, despite the fact that the default Windows XP temporary file location is located at "C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Local Settings\Temp", some programs written for XP insist on creating and using "C:\Windows\Temp" as their holding area and fail to remove the necessary files once their installation is complete. One culprit here is Realtek sound drivers. Perhaps an option to purge this folder could be added to the existing "Temporary Files" CCleaner option. If the above options could be considered, this would be appreciated. Regards DJ
