Hi Keyboard_Zombie:
If a re-boot of your computer doesn’t fix the problem then please read NicolaB’s 11-Dec-2025 I accidentally cleaned Firefox bookmarks! for possible solutions.
If you cannot add new bookmarks it’s also possible one or both of your bookmarks files (i.e., places.sqlite and/or favicons.sqlite) are locked. See the section titled “Fix the bookmarks file” in the Mozilla Firefox support article Can’t add, change or save bookmarks - How to fix and ensure neither of these files had their attribute set to “Read Only”.
If that doesn’t help the section titled “Create a new bookmarks file” in that same support article explains how to force Firefox to a create a new places.sqlite file by deleting (or renaming) the existing file (WARNING: This will also clear your entire browsing history). According to cbholzhauer’s 18-Dec-2025 post <here> in NicolaB’s topic they had to delete / rename both places.sqlite and favicons.sqlite in order to recover their bookmarks.
