  1. Hi Megan Thank you for your reply to my query. So, you said: "Otherwise unfortunately, as you've noticed, some of the cleaning options that were available in the old version of our app are not available in the new app". Would you please clarify this for me? My specific issues were: - 1) I cannot clean browser history (Chrome or other browsers) and there is a message saying that some files require admin permission to be able to clean, but no indication is given as to where said admin permission can be granted (I've looked in System Preferences /Security and it is not possible to grant CCleaner additional permissions). 2) I cannot clean cookies. Of course I have ticked cookies and browser history and in fact the 'Recommended Selection' ticks all four of the available options for cleaning ... but the point is that after having run the clean function, multiple megabytes of cookies remain and the browsing history has not been cleaned. Some items are cleaned but if, for example, there was 550MB of stuff to be cleaned then after cleaning there will still be up to 50MB of stuff remaining, and this is browser history and cookies. Why have you removed the main reason for using CCleaner in the first place? And is this new limitation only applicable to the free version? Looking at what comes with the paid version it is not clear that purchasing a licence would address these issues. Please provide me with a more thorough explanation, thanks! All the best, Wilson
  2. I have a related question for Johnccleaner ... I am using the free version for mac os and in the newest version of ccleaner I've noticed that it is no longer cleaning cookies and browsing history but when I look at the link you provided above that doesn't really clarify things ... the previous version of ccleaner was easier to use, actually, and you could stipulate which cookies you wanted to keep and ccleaner would delete the rest and you could also tick the box to clean the DNS cache and of course, all web browser history would be cleared .. none of that appears to be happening in the latest 'free' version, I'm not even sure if it would happen in the paid 'professional' version as it doesn't make it very clear in the FAQ link. All in all this newest version of ccleaner for mac is a real step backwards and very disappointing.
  3. Just installed the new CCleaner for Mac. It won't clean 1000s of items in Google Chrome despite repeated attempts (and having ticked the boxes to clean the items in question). Leaves 100s of cookies and history cache untouched. Has a message "some of the items require admin approval" or something like that but gives no indication as to how to provide admin approval. And talk about form over function, this new UI is TERRIBLE. Sure, it looks a little more modern, but it's way more difficult and time consuming to use.
