I never use CCleaner to clear cookies because Firefox does a much better and precise job deciding which cookies to keep and which ones to delete.

Setting scaling to less than 300% (recommended) makes the 4k screen content too small to read.

Setting CCleaner to full screen is not an option since it blocks other important windows during the extended time (> 5 minutes) that it runs.

There is most likely a registry setting to enable/disable version nags.  Are you afraid to document the myriad registry settings you use?  I thought so!

I won't be asking any more questions because your app is being deleted from all of our company's systems prior to their upgrade to 4k displays.

That said, using a version of CCleaner that is over a year old is a very bad idea if any of the software that CCleaner is cleaning for you has been updated in that period.  So you will still get the bottom-right toaster alerts occasionally to give you a nudge.

The most sensible solution, if you do not want to be reminded that your CCleaner is out of date would be to simply enable the automatic updates - which was the solution that we introduced back in 2020 to address the long-standing complaints about needing to manually update CCleaner every month.

The issue I have with CCleaner is that most updates are unwanted because they break the UI or some other function.  I had to reinstall version 5.53.7034 to regain partial control over the window size and position.  (It still has a minimum window size that is too large.) I get that annoying update popup every time I run CCleaner.  There is no way to disable it.  Documentation does not reference any of the dozens of registry settings made by the software. :-(

Reducing the scaling makes the display too small to read.  CCleaner window does fit in the screen.  Scaling is system wide so reducing it makes the entire system unusable.

You mentioned registry changes. I tried changing HKCU\Software\Piriform\CCleaner\WINDOW_HEIGHT from 2124 to 1920.  When CCleaner executes that registry entry reverts to 2124.  Thus it can't be changed.  Is there another registry change that will solve the window size issue?  Failing that a patch to the executable may be the only solution.

As I previously posted the display resolution is 3840 x 2160 and the scaling is the recommended 300%.

My screen resolution is 3840 x 2160 so it far exceeds the minimum 1010 x 700 pixels.  That being said, the other display parameters are Windows defaults.  The scale is the recommended 300%.  Any less and the 12" display is not readable.  Still that would be within the 700 pixel minimum. 700 x 300% is less than 2160 pixels.

The normal window resizing no longer works!  In windowed mode CCleaner won't resize vertically or horizontally.  The CCleaner window is vertically larger than the display.  The bottom stripe where system info & the check for updates is cut off.  This started happening when I switched to an HP notebook with a 4k display.  Is there a work around for this other than using full screen?

Even though Smart Cleaning is not enabled, CCleaner does not exit when the CCleaner window is closed on Windows 11.  Instead it remains in the task notification area.
