Hi Nergal -- That's what I thought. Thanks so much for getting back so quickly with an excellent answer.

I used the free version of Recuva to recover a deleted Photoshop .psd file. Recuva showed a green light and an excellent chance for recovery. Then it showed the file was recovered. I can't open the file in Photoshop. Would I have a better chance of recovery with the paid version or are .psd files generally not recoverable in a useable form? Thanks!
