  1. Is it possible to automate Winapp2ool?

I mean, I've set CCleanerClean task to clean the system every 2 weeks on Monday at 21:00, and created a task for running Winapp2ool every 2 weeks on Monday at 15:00. Winapp2ool is opening as it should every 2 week at 15:00, but then I need to choose number 9 to for "Update & Trim", and then push any button to go further, and then 0 to close the Winapp2ool window. Is it possible to automate this process? I'd like to automatically update and trim my winapp2.ini file just before CCleanerClean task clean my system, instead of having to do it manually?

  2. The previously proposed application Caprine left over some files in C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Caprine after it's uninstallation, and disappeared from CCleaner. About 70MB of data.

  3. Yes, the folder is located there and I guess it too! I've deleted whole folder with it's content and everything works like normal. No issues. Haven't seen any other file/folder in this "Cache" folder.

I've found another unneeded crap on my PC. These are coming from LibreOffice. A folder named program_old0 and program_old located in C:\Program Files\LibreOffice. I don't know what are they for but I've deleted them both and everything runs just fine. I guess they're some rest files from updating the application since there's another "program" folder in C:\Program Files\LibreOffice which contains exactly the same but newer created files. Both program_old folders occupied total of 50MB space on disk.

  4. Thank you for adding Process Hacker to the latest database update 👊

However, I've found another "cached" installation/update package located in %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Process Hacker\Cache folder. There's another "NYGWEFSCZHOPGSU" folder inside of it and a processhacker-build-setup.exe file there.

  5. I'd like to suggest new entry to the database.

It's an update .exe file of updated Process Hacker application (nightly v3). The file is located in the root installation folder of Process Hacker C:\Program Files\Process Hacker\processhacker-setup.exe which is created every time after an update.

  6. No sir, I haven't 🤭

Just deleted ESET in WOW6432Node & trimmed winapp2.ini file & ESET is gone now. Thank you. Don't know how could I miss that. Gonna be more observant next time.

I took "addresses" for NVIDIA, Huawei & ESET which was stated in winapp2.ini file and looked for them in the registry. Can't remember if the WOW6432Node was there. Probably not cause I'd get rid of that as I did for CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE and MACHINE\SOFTWARE.

  7. Yes, I do. I've used regedit to check for these entries which was stated in winapp2.ini file. There isn't any ESET in MACHINE\SOFTWARE neither CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE.

NVIDIA is done now, thank you.

BTW. I've seen an entry in HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE which was left by Thunderbird. I've uninstalled this application for 2 months ago and as I've uninstalled it, the Thunderbird position in CCleaner disappeared. Now I can see that some entries of it hasn't been removed so I did it manually. Just FYI.

  8. Thank you for your input.

I got rid of some of them by cleaning registry entries manually and deleting folders, but ESET and ESET Online Scanner is still present, though there's no files and no registry entries left. I couldn't get rid of NVIDIA Install Files, but this isn't coming from winapp2.ini. I don't have any NVIDIA graphic card anymore.

  9. Is there a way to get rid of applications that I no longer use? These marked with * coming from winapp2.ini and these wihout it. I've used couple of application once and they remain on the list after they've been uninstalled for a long time ago.

    - Run "Notepad" as administrator (via the right-click menu).
    - Use "Open" and navigate to the CCleaner installation folder (C:\Program Files\CCleaner).
    - Open the file "winapp2.ini".
    - Copy the entry [Caprine *].
    - Paste it at the end of the file and save it.
    - Start CCleaner and the new entry should appear.

I've just tested it and everything works like before cleaning.

  11. I'd like to suggest an application to winapp2.ini database. The application is called Caprine. It's leaving installation files after updating it.

May you check if I prepared everything correctly for you sir?

  12. Ummm, do I need to do anything else or you already did it for me and it's about to wait for winapp2.ini update now? I can check what is needed and supply you with these informations. Thank you in advance if you did that for me. Will remember it next time I suggest a new program to add.

  13. May we user suggest an application to add for cleaning so it's gonna be there whenever winapp2.ini file is updated? Just installed an application, updated winapp2 file but the application isn't there. It leaves about 200MB of updates after it's done. I don't see "include folder" option in CCleaner.

  14. Thank you for your time. It sounds ridiculous that the program isn't set to it's best settings per default and a 3TB drive defragmentation process take  ~50 hours 🙄

Should I check all files in the file list or just some of them? Can these files be checked automatically then, right after analyze? I've set Defraggler to automatically defrag all my HDDs whenever they reach 30-60% (depends on disk) once a month so defragmentation isn't anything I'm doing manually.

I'm not using the Windows optimization and defrag and Defraggler is set to replace it.

First the responsible CCleaner entry must be found: Simply right-click on the first Thunderbird entry and select "Clean <entry name>". Then run Thunderbird to see if the issue occurs. If not, continue with the next Thunderbird entry until the responsible CCleaner entry is found.

(Some built-in entries open and clean the databases directly instead of removing the files themselves. CCleaner unfortunately indicates that nothing has been removed even though the databases have been cleaned.)

Thank you for your answer. I've checked it and you need to add folder C:\Users\%USERDATA%\AppData\Local\Thunderbird\Profiles to exclusions :)

  16. I've the same problem. Started to defrag my Toshiba P300 3TB (99% fragmented files) this morning and it's running 6,5 hours now and the progress is on 25% 🙄 I see on the map that blocks are moving and changing colors between yellow and green. Files on this drive are big ones, definitely more than +20GB per file as this hard drive is just for Acronis True Image backup images. So annoying it takes sooo long time. All your solutions from this thread has been applied before I've started to defrag this drive. Is it because of the amount of fragmented files and the capacity of this hard drive? Is it normal? Would the time to defrag decrease if the partition was for example just 1TB? Thank you in advance.

  17. Hi guys! I've got another trouble with CCleaner/Winapp2.ini.

What do I need to add to exceptions to not reset my Mozilla Thunderbird settings every month when CCleaner runs an autoclean? The only one setting I've done to one of my e-mail accounts in Thunderbird is to save all drafts on my Gmail account instead of saving them locally. This settings resets after every CCleaner cleanup, and the result of it is that there are 5-100 drafts for almost every e-mail I write and the amount of drafts depends on how long message I write, as an auto-save draft saves them every 2 minute. Cookies are enabled for Thunderbird and a lot of them has been added to exceptions but I don't think it's related to cookies.

These settings on the attached picture below has been activated in CCleaner. The last AutoClean was yesterday evening and today I've got 56 drafts for an e-mail.

Since yesterday, only the one isn't clean today and it's Thunderbird Crash Files but I don't think it has anything to do with Thunderbird settings.

    C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\AppData\Roaming\Thunderbird\Crash Reports\InstallTime20190909201201

Though the first line, "Temporary Internet" in Thunderbird submenu of CCleaner is activated, when manually analyzing it reports "Skipped".

    All other activated are clean.

Some months ago, an issue with another extension was reported. The responsible entry was [Google Chrome - Session].

You can try excluding the following folder and see if it helps:
    C:\Users\<your username>\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Extension State\

Thank you for your engagement. Adding this folder to exclusions hasn't resolved the problem. The extension name I've a problem with is Home - New Tab Page.

You can see on attached screenshot what's happening after cleaning temporary files... all images/thumbnails are flushed. 14 of them thumbnails are stored locally on my hard drive and 7 are from an URL somewhere in internet. Settings looks to be OK. It's just these thumbnails I've a problem with...

I've just discovered an interesting thing with this extension. It looks like it's doing an automatic backup. I can't tell you for now how often it's doing it and what is included in it, but it automatically backup settings and thumbnails and I just need 2 clicks to restore to state from last backup. It's not that much to be done which I couldn't do once a week, but I'd prefer to do it automatically, as it should do it. I'm getting a message when restoring it.

  19. There is a problem with only this extension. I've latest winapp2.ini of course.

I've localized these files/file (by modified time right after temporary folder cleanup and importing extension settings) and the extension is saving settings (thumbnails) in Default/Cache folder of Chrome. Files in this folder are re-created with every Chrome temporary files cleaning, and names of these files are different every time after they've been cleaned. I think it's then impossible  😕

  20. I've a new tab page extension and whenever I clean chrome temporary files in CCleaner, the new tab page extension settings resets to defaults and I need to import them once a week as CCleaner is set to auto scan every week. How can I find this file to add it to exclusions so I will not be forced to import settings anymore?
