Thanks hazelnut for the link to the latest update.
It downloaded okay but failed to installed. The same old abort/try again message.
I am not competent enough to try Andavan's method. I guess I will just continue on my way with Version 5.32.

Any news on when this problem with CCleaner is going to sorted.

All I can say is that the devs are aware of this issue and are working on it I have been told.

CCleaner Free has become unreliable when it comes time to update to a new version. This has been happening for several months.
I have Version 5.32.6129 (64 bit) installed at the moment on my Windows 10 Version 1607.
I have been offered Version 5.33.6162. It downloads okay but will not intall . Gives the window about not opening correctly and gives option to abort/retry/cancel.
I have had CCleaner Free installed for many years and this trouble has only arisen over the past 9 months or so. I am losing my confidence in the product.

I am so pleased to report that I received an email alert from Piriform this morning and low and behold
I decided to try again and was pleased that it downloaded and installed without any trouble.
I am in Queensland, Australia.
