First off, my settings:
I have set CCleaner to start up when Windows boots.
I have also set it to monitor files and if it exceeds 1gb it should prompt me to clean.
Running on a schedule is unticked.
Tried with "Active Monitoring" both ticked and unticked.
The behavior:
Randomly, at startup, CCleaner decides to automatically clean. Doesn't happen on every boot either, just random. It has nothing to do with my 1gb threshold, it will simply clean no matter what, even for like 20mb.
I want CCleaner to run at startup and just sit there. It should monitor my files and simply prompt me when it meets the criteria I've set up. On a similar older thread the user was advised to turn off all monitoring settings. That's obviously bad advice and doesn't solve the problem, it simply cripples the functionality of the program. Any help appreciated.
