does CCleaner scan a file or program from winapp2.ini file? or maybe using other method? thanks.

Hi, this may sound silly, but i need a solid answer for this. how the scanning process work in CCleaner? ex: how CCleaner can scan temporary files, cleaning cache & cookies and registry? answer: it only scan cached files or some specific extension files(.xml,.mp3) thanks so much.
