  1. I've been using CCleaner for longer than I can remember, and have seen a few UI improvements over this time, but something that has always been a problem, and has slowly gotten worse over the years due to advances in complexity and more features, is the lack of tooltips and descriptions for cleaning actions. UI improvements and the request for more descriptive options has been made numerous time over the years, and like the previous users, there are a number of options in the list of applications that I have no idea what they do, and I would really like to know, without having to search Google, or post on the forum to ask. While some are self-explanatory from their title alone (cookies, history, cache, logs, etc), many are very vague and could be taken to mean various things, or leave the user wondering whether they can clean these things and not worry about losing useful data. Some examples of how certain options could be perceived: Last Download location - Does this remove my downloaded files, download history or just the once off directory I chose for that one download that one time? Index.dat files - What is in these? Session - What's this do? Other Explorer MRUs - This might as well just say "Other Stuff" Desktop Shortcuts - Does this remove shortcuts, order of shortcuts, or something else? Font Cache - Is removing this going to speed things up, or slow things down, what's the purpose? Environment Path - What exactly gets cleaned here? MS OneDrive - Does this delete my files? Picasa 3 - Are my photos going to be safe? Skype - Does this remove my chat logs or something else? VLC Media Player - My recent file history is still there, so what does it do? Right-click and analyse only shows me how many files/Mb are being removed, and if there is nothing there yet to analyse, then it's not going to show me anything. While using the website help documents will help with some of the common functions, it doesn't help with the application specific features. For user-friendliness, most of the information on the website could also be shown as a tooltip, so the user doesn't have to search the website for a simple description. Lack of descriptions also applies to the browser monitoring feature; I have no idea if this removes only what I have pre-selected in the cleaner application options, or if it does everything (couldn't find anything in the help documents for this). CCleaner is such a simple and useful application, yet it lacks some of the most simple and useful features for use-friendly operation, common to most other applications.
