hazelnut, Thank you very much for that info and clarification. I will follow what you suggest. I did 'merge' several of those documents with the registry, and then gave the Reg. Cleaner another run. I was getting dozens of issues showing - so it confirms what you say. As I said in my post - wrong side of 70, but I am still ready to learn new things. Thanks again.

I have just joined the forum today, but have been using CCleaner for about 5 years, and find it great and easy to use. But, re the Registry tool, which I also use, when fixing selected issues, there follows the prompt to back up those, and the box "YES" is highlighted. I normally tick yes, and find that My Documents is being filled with them. Prior to joining I visited Piriform on the web, and learned how to merge such backup files with the registry. First question : Am I doing the correct thing by merging those with the registry ? Second question : Once I have merged them with the registry, can I then delete those items from My Documents ? Hoping for guidance re the 2 above points, and being the wrong side of 70 yrs go easy on me.
