No new news on that front right now. If you follow either the blog on the main site or the announcements board you will be (amongst) the first to know. The developers don't tend to show their hands until something is released (whether it be bug fixes or new softwares)
Ok thanks. I'm guessing you don't have info on Recuva for Android?

Most items added to ccleaner's code first make their appearance in the winapp2 thread. This allows multiple users to test the entry and makes more software available to the developers than they may have access (or time) to in order to make entries. You have a better chance of having your request honored by the developers if you travel the route my colleague suggested.
Thanks, I'll check it out.

I've tried more than once to delete that file with no success.
Try using SuperDelete, it comes with SuperAntiSpyware.

Allot of people don't like the desktop, etc., myself included.
My aunt got a new Win8 laptop last month and has had nothing but learning issues with it. I recommended that she take one of those free or low cost classes/courses to better understand it, i.e.; completely and selfishly saving me from trying to help or teach her since I don't use that OS.
lol Why not just install Windows 7 for her?
from my experience all the complaints centre around the Start Screen and nothing more.
once they put on a free or cheap start button program, all is back to normal.
I got so fed up with the Start tiles that even I lashed out and got StartIsBack for $3 for 2 pc's, one off payment.
I tried two of the free ones and, although good, weren't quite complete enough for me.
While that may be at the core of it, everything from the app system, the new UI for viewing pics, etc. are all huge inconveniences imo.

You may want to check out the winapp2.ini (file), although I don't know if DAP is listed in it or not.
Thanks, but I was talking more about CCleaner incorporating it into their stock software to be more complete if possible.

Look in: Tools > Startup > Context Menu
It allows you to: Enable, Disable, Delete
Thanks, I knew about that one but it just isn't very complete. More customization would be great, especially if you can have options for editing the context menu in Chrome, Firefox, on different file types, etc. Being able to rearrange options, as well as choosing to remove different options for the same program (like Winrar) instead of disabling them all, etc. are more of what I'm referring to.

This sounds like a good idea.

Absolute trash imo. Pretty much everyone I know switches their new computers to Windows 7.
-
Would it be possible to have a tool to edit the right-click menu? (e.g. the option to remove items, rearrange items, add items, etc.)
-
I use a download accelerator called DAP, and in it there's what they call a trace cleaner, which removes traces of downloads. Here's a screenshot:
Does CCleaner already do this? If so, automatically in monitoring or through a scan? And if not can it be added?
-
Would it be possible to add the option to view and restore previous versions of a file, both present files or deleted files?
-
Any rough idea when CCleaner for Android will be released? Also will there be different versions (i.e. free, pro, business, etc.) or just one?
-
A reasonable idea - but it depends on what you're trying to achieve. Recuva will always scan the entire partition whatever the selection criteria is, then filters the results for the user. You can scan anything in the Wizard then go into Advanced Mode and select all the options (one at a time) in the Filename/Path box, without rescanning. So you don't have to rescan for a new selection, and the multiple type selection won't speed up the scan.
Oh I was under the impression it would only scan for the selected file type. Thanks for clearing that up.

Just the forums as you've already done.

Edited it for you Mel
Thanks Any comment on the suggestion?

I think that this is far too hazardous (meaning it will annoy some people) to be part of CC. Best left to specialist software for those who must have it. There doesn't seem to be much of a market out there.
Wouldn't it be possible to include it as an optional tool, maybe even just for pro/business versions? I don't suppose Piriform will come out with a small separate software for it?
-
As it is right now you can only choose one type of file to search for in Recuva. It would be better imo to have the option to search for more than one without having to search for all. A check-box layout where you can choose images AND videos, or any combination of multiple file types.

Would it be possible to add an option to utilizie more PC resources in order to boost cleaning speed?
Examples:
Superantispyware:
Microsoft Security Essentials:

As it is right now, if you choose to overwrite files, you are unable to view other files in the list and thus preview panel until the overwrite is finished. Would it be possible to do so, and maybe even add files to the list of ones in queue to be removed as well?
Edit: Overwriting*. Don't know why we can't edit thread titles :/

Would it be possible to add a feature that removes metadata from all files on a computer (with the option for only images, videos, documents, etc.) and overwrites the deleted metadata? Possibly one with a real-time metadata remover for new files?
-
not that im aware of.
for pictures there's stripper: http://www.steelbytes.com/?mid=30
and for documents there's Document Metadata Cleaner: http://www.pointstone.com/products/metadata-cleaner/
That sucks. Thanks for the suggestions. Maybe Piriform will come out with one or incorporate it into CCleaner? Is there any place to suggest it to them directly?

Is there any program that removes metadata from all files on a computer (with the option for only images, videos, documents, etc.)? Possibly one with a real-time metadata remover for new files?

I'm aware of that, but it's not always a feasible option on every version of Windows or Mac. A thousand pardons for making a thread.
