  1. I saw an old thread about this that seemed to get brushed off and a request to start a new thread, so here it is. I have a relatively newly cloned HD with the MFT at the front of the drive and a large "MFT Reserved Space" in the middle. Now, even though it wouldn’t be the worst thing in the world, the MFT will eventually need to grow. Since the only reserved MFT space is a long way away, the MFT is guarantied to get at least 2 widely separated fragments. Is there any way, or any product to get the reserved space together with the current MFT?
  2. It might be nice to get a "We know about it" or event just a <Grunt>. :-/
  3. Doesn't Piriform ever look at these posts? Doing Google and Bing searches, I see all kinds of articles about "Ccleaner now cleans Chrome". As far as I can see, it's a complete lie.
  4. If you mean: USERPROFILE=C:\Documents and Settings\<USER> where I'be replaced my real user name with <USER> so it's not on the internet, the answer is "Yes". >Are you using either google sync, google print or any google chrome apps? No. Chrome is bare bones. I don't even know what that stuff does. I mainly use Chrome for the growing number of sites that won't work with IE8 anymore. I like to clean-up afterwards without going through the Chrome "Tools > Clear Browsing data..." song and dance.
  5. On XP Pro (Sp3), even though CCleaner sees Chrome and the boxes are checked, nothing gets cleaned. After snapshotting the file system before and after a Chrome "Tools > Clear Browsing data..." I included the following in Ccleaner: C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\|Cookies*.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\Extension State\\|Current.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\Extension State\\|MANIFEST*.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\|History*.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\Local Storage\\|*.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\Media Cache\\|*.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\Pepper Data\\Shockwave Flash\\WritableRoot\\|*.*|RECURSE C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\|Visited Links.* C:\\Documents and Settings\\<USER>\\Local Settings\\Application Data\\Google\\Chrome\\User Data\\Default\\|Web Data*.* This should not be necessary. Chrome is installed to its default location at "C:\Documents and Settings\<USER>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" Any ideas?
  6. Well, that's steaky of them. Anyway, when I "Included" C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache\*.* and C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\History*.* it goes away.
  7. Actually, I don't use Chrome that much, except for Google sites that screwup without it. I don't have any extentions except for the "Default Extension 1.0" whatever that is, that I can't get rid of. I'll try to remove the "Includes" again tomorrow. i just noticed the history didn't go away, so i hit it with a bigger hammer.
  8. I guess this has been dropped since there is a workaroung. Just makes me wonder what else requires manual intervention to clean or prevent from cleaning. :-/
  9. Chrome = 22.0.1229.79 CCleaner = 3.24.1850 Windows = XP Pro (Sp3) 32Bit
  10. Although this probably needs its own topic, I also noticed this version doesn't clean anything for Chrome. I used "Include" to add: C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\Cache\*.* and C:\Documents and Settings\<user>\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\User Data\Default\History*.*
  11. Thanks. That did it. Sorry about the delay. I was waiting for email notification of a reply. :-/ :-)
  12. Under "Applications >Windows > RegEdit", the check box has no affect. HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Applets\Regedit (value LastKey) always gets deleted after running CCleaner. XP Pro.
