  1. A quick update. Even trying other software didn't seem to allow to find the deleted file. For some reason it must have been overwritten almost right after it got deleted. Bad luck, I guess. Thank you for your help, Augeas and redhawk .
  2. Okay, now that I borrowed my friend's computer I can have a clearer look. There is a whole bunch of .lnk files from the Office folder with the original file's name on them. Can I do anything with these?
  3. Since this is not my doing or my computer, I lack some of the details. I'll ask the person. All I know is that the computer she's using (which is not hers) deletes files directly without putting them into the recycle bin first. I actually did a deep scan. Wasn't too long because the partition is apparently fairly small. I've read something about .wbk files for Word files. Would that track be worth pursuing?
  4. Hi, I just deleted a word document, and using Recuva and other software all I can find is several files with gibberish filenames (~WRD0001 to 3.doc). I could recover those, but what do I do from there? Thanks in advance.
