  2. Hi My Pent III PC (WinME) stopped functioning and is now on life support .. all indications point to a corrupt Registry .. or, Heavens forfend!, an avian virus .. or 2 .. .. it won't go into Windows; nor is it able to go online. I am able to boot up only by means of an . . . iOmega Zip disc / Norton emergency Boot disc combination . . . which i prepared in 2001 .. it allows me access to all current files on the computer .. but the SYSTEM i must use is the Windows on the iOmega disc, which is an external machine connected to the PC, and which configures itself on the computer by creating it's own I:\ drive. . . . Today, through my son's laptop, i Downloaded CCleaner directly into a CD-R/W disc which i then put into my PC and copied into my own current folder in C:\programfiles\ .. it Installed fine. . . . However .. when i Run Cleaner .. it won't CClean, but rather will only IClean .. that is, it runs the entire program on the recovery material which is on my iOmega disc!!! (i did cancel the run when i saw the indication that it was cleaning the "I:" drive). [ok, if i have done irrepairable damage to the emergency disc, i shall have to determine never again to emerge from this old computer's next catastrophe .. schmidt happens.] PROBLEM: How can i get CCleaner to C-Clean rather than I-Clean? .. so far my ideas/solutions???? (1) Is there a place in CCleaner where i can assign the drive to work on? (2) Could i go into DOS and then Run the Cleaner i have in my C:\programfiles\? or does CC need a Windows environment in order to be able to do its thang? (3) I've already backed up the PC onto dozens of little floppies and just purchased a new PC that doesn't have a floppy port .. so if i can CClean this old mare and fix her up just so's she can hobble alongside the new WinXP Media monster .. it's about all one can ask for at my age .. thanks
