When running CCleaner the first Windows -> Internet Explorer section runs very slowly at about one second or more for each apparent URL. In total, after a few weeks of PC use, it can take several minutes. After this section, the program runs very quickly. Also, all the other sections and the other tasks run very quickly.
It doesn't 'feel' right and I am wondering if I have got everything correct on my PC.
System Details:
CCleaner v2.36.1233
MS Windows XP Pro, SP3 - fully auto updated.
Intel Core2Duo E7500 @ 2.93GHz, 3.0GHz RAM, Intel G45/G43 express chipset.
AVG Internet Security 9.0.862 - fully implemented (disabling the firewall makes no difference)
Any ideas or comments would be welcome.
