[Disk partitions]

Most of us now are aware of good things of having partition.

How about its side effects? Please comment on my idea. I recently got this HP laptop, intel dual core, 4 GB RAM, and around less than 200GB HDD. After creating partition via partition magic SLOW DOWN is very noticeable.

 

Should it be better to make a partition via Windows setup?

Partition magic is known to mess up vista partitions.I would use easeus free partition tools instead.

[Monitor not powering up]

Hi fluffy. These dell e173fpp monitors have some well known faults.It is usually the capacitors on the power board that have gone.The capacitors bulge on top,its easy to see which ones are faulty.You need to desolder the bad ones and solder in some new ones of the same spec ,i must warn you though,the capacitors hold a charge and can give a nasty shock.Leave at least 24hrs if you do attempt the repairs yourself.
