I also ran the dial-a-fix with the settings you specified, all I hit was scan. I didn't hit anything else, did I do this correctly?

When I try to run C:\system32\dllcache it says this I can access my C drive, so I don't know why it's saying this?

I read that disabling Automatic updates would stop the problem, but before I disabled it, it wouldn't work. I have my firewall disables because of my norton.

Nope, I don't have that installed. All I really want to fix is the svchost.exe eating up all my memory and CPU. I can try to do what you suggested with a blank cd, but I don't have a flash drive. I can download anything exept that, or the automatic updates site on microsoft doesn't load for me..

Hi everyone, I'm recently having some trouble with Svchost.exe.. It's using up all my memory and CPU. This all happened after I used Ccleaner.. My audio also doesn't work. When it uses up all my CPU, i control - alt - delete , and look at the process tab, it's either using up or almost using up all my memory and CPU.. I keep trying to fix it, I disabled automatic updates, still doesn't fix it. Automatic updates stopped working. whenever I go to manually download the new updates off of microsoft's site, it says "connection reset" and it doesn't let me onto the automatic updates part of microsoft. if anyone can help, I'd really appreciate it. Things I've tried - system restoration - doesn't work registry restoration - doesn't work running malware bytes scan - doesn't work running norton security suite scan - doesn't work if anyone needs more information, just ask for it. Thank you! Now I can get some help? =D

Alright, I'm doing this. I'm currently download Malwarebytes'. I'll run a scan with that. All the other stuff looks pretty confusing. If this doesn't work. I'll TRY to do the other stuff. Thanks for the quick feed back. =)

I'm almost positive, I've ran multiple scans. Nothing's shown up. I have the Norton Security Suite. BUT - It keeps saying Intrusion blocked - then it states the adress for my svchost.exe. =s Eh, I don't care about the spam. =D But thanks.

Hi everyone. My name's Jeremy. I've recently downloaded Ccleaner and ran a scan.. Firstly, it messed up all my fonts, but I fixed that. Secondly, my audio doesn't work. I was researching about it on google. (Search engines rock) I saw something that said Ccleaner messed up the registry for the audio software. I don't know if it's my problem, but I don't know what to do. Thirdly, the process "svchost.exe" keeps using up all my memory and CPU. I read somewhere that it has something to do with automatic updates for windows. I tried to use automatic updates, Doesn't work! Something's definitely wrong. OS - XP Things I've tried : Restoration of the registry files that I've saved = Didn't work, Doesn't let me restore them. System restoration to an earlier time = Didn't work, I don't know why but it has never worked for me. Running Anti-Virus scan.
