  1. Hi, while trying to diagnose an error problem i was having with my ATI video card drivers i finally pin pointed the problem. CCleaner was deleting files from the registry that are needed for ATI's drivers.

    ActiveX/COM Issue AtiComCloneControl.CloneViewHelper - {4242B984-6C36-4FC8-8626-DE5E8B11886D} HKCR\AtiComCloneControl.CloneViewHelper

    ActiveX/COM Issue AtiComCloneControl.CloneViewHelper.1 - {4242B984-6C36-4FC8-8626-DE5E8B11886D} HKCR\AtiComCloneControl.CloneViewHelper.1

    ActiveX/COM Issue C4.CCCCom - {CC7C96DF-1942-4D46-9FCD-810EF1C56C2D} HKCR\C4.CCCCom

    ActiveX/COM Issue UserInterfaceObject.AtiPropertySheetACE - {872A9397-E0D6-4E28-B64D-52B8D0A7EA35} HKCR\UserInterfaceObject.AtiPropertySheetACE

These are needed. If i remove these Catalyst Control Center from ATI errors out. It is still happening with the current 2.18.878 and i am using vista 64 bit.

This is a very old BUG !!! which the devs of CC are not willing to FIX (it seems, since it's there from the beginning)

This is TO BAD ! Because of it me and all my friends STOPed using CC a while ago after being a VERY enthusiastic CC user (used to recommend it to everybody) :( Imagine what's happening with other less common drivers / apps !

    @DEVS

WHAT'S HAPPENING WITH CC ?

  2. I just want to keep my Flash Player's settings and clean everything else flash player related crap B)

So ... How to keep them ?

Basically How can i add an exception to FileKey1=%appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player|*.*|RECURSE for

    %appdata%\Macromedia\Flash Player\macromedia.com\support\flashplayer\sys\settings.sol in winapp.ini ?

  3. Hi Mercury_22.

Have a look here mate, third post down. ;)

    CraigM

    Thanks! Let's hope so!

Still I don't understand why yahoo's Sh*t it's not uncheck by default so we can all use the same installer!

This way the possibility that the users accidentally install yahoo's Sh*t it's more reduced (look here) and we can silent install without it, also no need to build more installers ! B)

    :o WHY?

  4. Where are the "other builds" ?:( Because it seems "Other builds will be available for download soon... " since Version 2 started and still they aren't !:angry:

Or at least uncheck yahoo's Sh*t by default so we can SILENT INSTALL WITHOUT YAHOO'S SH*T! (or put a switch in the installer  )

Because of these i'm holding on deployment of CCleaner on all our computers since version 2, and will be sad to have to give up on your app just because of this! :(

  5. That would of course constitute someone having to manually cleanup after uninstalling CCleaner, for instance if someone wanted to do a clean install they would be left with an unused folder group that the uninstaller won't remove.

This is one of the reasons why i start this post :D

  6. I'm confuzzled beyond belief......the computer I'm on is running Win 2000 Pro....with only one account that everyone in my family uses (I'm about 16, but the most knowlageable about computers :) ) So, obviously when I installed CCleaner, its on the one and only account.

On my other PC (A Dell), everyone at this point is an Administrator, which will change in the near future. When I installed CCleaner on that computer, I found it only installed to the one profile I was on. What is the easiest way for all users of that computer to have CCleaner on the other accounts???

    AJ

CCleaner it's installed for All Users already! (Administrators or Limited Account) :P

All users can access ccleaner from Recycle Bin's right click menu! :D

If you want all users to have access to CCleaner from "Start Menu" all you have to do it's to login as the user who installed CCleaner go to "C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR User NAME\Start Menu\Programs\" and move CCleaner group to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\" ;)

    And you're done!!!!!

  7. Why give everyone access to a tool they might not use, if you can automate it? I think there are pros and cons for giving CC to everyone, for example user B could possibly remove entries from the registry in HKLM, which may have been useful for user A.

    1. All users already have access to ccleaner from Recycle Bin's right click menu!

    2. CCleaner can "remove entries from the registry in HKLM" only for "IIS Log Files" - HKLM\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\w3svc and "Old Prefetch data" - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\OptimalLayout) (Look into winapp.ini&winsys.ini I found only HKCU except those two) B)

  8. If the developer used Inno Setup it would have been available for all users a long time ago because Inno Setup creates start menu shortcuts for all users by default.

YES! Inno Setup it will allow to use switches ( ccsetup128.exe /VERYSILENT /Components= .......) to choose components we want to install ( no yahoo TB) so no more need for three different builds (Standard Build , Basic and Slim) :D;):)

If you're logged in as a Administrator, why not just make a shortcut aimed at "C:\Program Files\CCleaner\ccleaner.exe" /AUTO and put one in everyone's Start Menu>Programs>Startup location?

Then, without caring about tidiness, everyone who logs on should trigger a cleanup of their user profile. Or am I missing something?

Or look into logoff scripts, they might help too...

YES you miss the point of this post!:wacko:<_<

What i was asking for was to change ccleaner's group program shortcut location from "C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR User NAME\Start Menu\Programs\CCleaner" to "C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\CCleaner"

This way everybody can access the program from start menu not only from Recycle Bin's right click menu!

  9. I agree it needs to be available from the get go for all users, and this complaint/suggestion has popped up more than a few times over the last year or so.

A current workaround is to create a desktop shortcut pointing to ccleaner.exe in: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Desktop

Why not just tell the installer (NSIS if i'm not mistaken) to use %ALLUSERPROFILES% INSTEAD OF %USERPROFILE% for the group program shortcut? :(

  10. If you setup ccleaner using another user go to C:\Documents and Settings\that user\Start Menu\Programs and move the ccleaner folder to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs!

By the way it will be VERY USEFUL if ccleaner it will install in %ALLUSERPROFILES%\Start Menu\Programs INSTEAD OF %USERPROFILE%\Start Menu\Programs

  11. QUOTE(seamaiden @ Apr 1 2006, 12:10 AM)

This thread began in 2004. It is now 2006, and some of the suggestions herein have already been added to CCleaner. It would be nice if a mod or admin could go through this thread and mark which ideas have been implemented so far, are planned for future versions, or will not be implemented. Or maybe a cover page or summary page can be added as the first post in this thread. Then the mods/admins could simply keep updating that first post as new features are added/planned. It is just a thought.

I would bank on it, changes and or enhancements to the forum seem to never happen all tho they are promised.

    I agree!

It will be very nice to have an WIPE FREE SPACE option

What about deletion of "_restore..." from "System Volume Information" folder (you can see those when using an ativirus to scan "System Volume Information" folder)

  12. Hi!

How can i secure delete only some file/folder (something like an option in right click menu)?

Because using the "Secure file deletion" option from settings it makes CCleaner runing SLOWER! And let's face it we don't need to "secure delete" ALL FILES we delete! <_<;)

Also it will be very nice to have an WIPE FREE SPACE option too!

I think now that we have "secure deletion" this options should be piece of cake! :D

  13. The problem appears to be these lines in winapp.ini:

    [Office XP]

    RegKey8=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Word\Data|Settings

    [Office 2003]

    RegKey10=HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Office\11.0\Word\Data|Settings

If you delete the appropriate line for your version of Office, the settings would be left alone but you'd have to edit winapp.ini every time you upversion CCleaner. Also, Mr. G may have had a reason for this.

    Thanks Glenn! :D

And i have to agree with Andavari "last time I checked my preferred Word, etc., settings weren't junk"

  14. How about adding some

    1.Recent files list removal

    2.Removal of System Restore File

    3.Bug reporter :)

I vote for Removal of System Restore File too!!!

How about adding a Memory monitoring/cleaning feature  also VERY , VERY USEFUL !!! :D
