I have a Maxtor OneTouch4 external hard drive that is malfunctioning and my computer no longer recognizes it. When it worked...it was shown as being in Drive F...now, there is no drive F showing. It's plugged in via a USB cable. When its connected, a message appears saying that the USB device has malfunctioned. My question... How can I use recuva to recover the files from this external hard drive if my computer doesn't recognize the drive? Is it possible?
