So I got a nasty virus that hijacked internet explorer. The only anti-virus software that worked was spyware doctor, So I bought the program, Now it has hijacked my computer. If Spyware doctor isn't active on my computer, the Internet explorer browser windows do not open correctly. They are missing the File, Edit, View, favorites, Tool, help, Back, forward, and all those other buttons. Just double clicking on SPyware Doctor and waiting for it to start up restores thos functions. However Unless I am doing a scan any time I click on a google selection (even open in new page), I get an ABC search redirect, and I can't get to the website I want. Starting a scan and waiting ten seconds before trying again "fixes" this problem.
THe program always asks if I want to run live update, especially five seconds after I have run live update and restarted. When doing a scan, if finds a trojan virus, and removes it, then tells me I have to restart the computer in safe mode and rescan. If I close that window the computer restarts. If I restart it in safe mode, the scan finds nothing. restarting the computer forces me to rescan again, unless I stop the scan, but it is annoying yo have to stop the scan, and if I forget, then I'm forced to restart the machine.
I really feel this software is creating the problems it is supposed to solve.
Any thoughts, or should I just uninstall this software?
