  1. Yes I now how to work around the problem and get to the slim installer. It was just way more convenient to do so from the update pop up but that is not possible any longer.

    IDE/SATA

Are you sure you are not running the SATA controller that the two drives in question are attached to in IDE mode in the bios settings. If so that would explain why they show up as IDE drives.
  3. It used to be when CCleaner said there was a new version and you followed the link you had the choice of picking the slim version from the other builds link. Trouble is the other builds link no longer exists. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download I can find the light version by going to http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds instead but why break the links for the lite version from the link built in the CCleaner. Bill
  4. I have noticed lately that CCleaner finds nothing to clean in the registry except unused file extensions. This is using version 2.27.1070 under Win 7 64 bit. I think it used to find more than that previously. All boxes checked in the cleaner tab. I have removed and installed from a new down load and find the same. The PC in question is used to test various software so many programs are installed and later uninstalled but CCleaner finds no leftover keys. Any ideas short of a OS reload to prove whats wrong? Thanks Bill
