  1. Thanks Norel for your reply: There are about 50 blocks of red, all identified the same in the file list as $MFT I then did a C drive search, and $MFT does not come up at all. What should do now? I want to either defrag the sector or get rid of it. Could it be anything to do with my recent download of AVG antivirus programme I wonder?
  2. About two months ago a large section of (red) fragmented file suddenly popped up on my Disk Defragmenter programme and it won?t defrag. Since then I have discovered Defraggler, a much better method, but even it cannot defrag this sector. Is there any way, using Defraggler to be able to identify this fragmented file, so I can perhaps deal with it another way? Sorry if this has been asked before, I can't find an answer myself.
