A optimizing computer site says that CCleaner slows down the system performance by deleting old prefetch file you can prevent this by opening CCleaner under system uncheck Old Prefetch Data

What defrag program are you using that would suggest such an absurd thing? We aren't in the day of Win9x anymore where you'd have to disable your antivirus scanner real-time protection in order for defrag to complete.

I'm not even about to say anymore about it, other than if you start playing around make sure you create a backup of the whole folder beforehand just in case you mess up.
