I posted this in your thread but perhaps should have started a new one - apologies if I've deviated too much. I think I'm expecting too much here .... I accidentally replaced my current Outlook Express files, Inbox.dbx, etc, with old backups. Recuva has found them but when I try to recover them it loads my processor up (see Task Manager - Performance tab) to 100% and sits there all day. If I use the Email option in the Recuva drop-down instead, the recovered zip file does not contain the correct stuff, in fact very little. Bottom line - Why is Recuva loading my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ processor to 100% ? (or on my newer pc, AMD Athlon XP64 5200+ dual core to 50%) And why does it sit there on 0% progress telling me it's calculating the time left instead of telling me it cannot recover the information? Could it in fact be busy recovering it, and I just need to leave it running for a few days? Or is it because the file type is not on the list? Regards to all, Tears. Running XP Pro SP3
