I posted this in your thread but perhaps should have started a new one - apologies if I've deviated too much.
I think I'm expecting too much here ....
I accidentally replaced my current Outlook Express files, Inbox.dbx, etc, with old backups.
Recuva has found them but when I try to recover them it loads my processor up (see Task Manager - Performance tab) to 100% and sits there all day.
If I use the Email option in the Recuva drop-down instead, the recovered zip file does not contain the correct stuff, in fact very little.
Bottom line - Why is Recuva loading my AMD Athlon XP 2600+ processor to 100% ? (or on my newer pc, AMD Athlon XP64 5200+ dual core to 50%)
And why does it sit there on 0% progress telling me it's calculating the time left instead of telling me it cannot recover the information?
Could it in fact be busy recovering it, and I just need to leave it running for a few days?
Or is it because the file type is not on the list?
