thats the guid path of the hidden system volume on my windows 7 starter installation "\\.\Volume{dae74398-f4a6-11de-9498-806e6f6e6963}\" other programs that defrag can use those types of paths.... could you make yours support them to? personally i like to keep everything defraged and i hate having to mount then unmount the partition just to defrag it one more thing. i used vb.net and wmi to find that path so i bet you guys could find it too
