  1. Thanks. So should I stop now and scan for none-deleted files first? I am at 89% NICE Thank you very much, I am so-so HAPPY I did what you guys suggested, and I got it. I didn't see what I was looking for with out the none-deleted files activated but I quick scan with it checked and BINGO!!! 10,939 files found (recovered). YES... Recuva is on the job now, it is gonna take around 5 hours but that is just because it is a lot of info. I also selected the Restore folder structure option.
  2. Before I started messing around with this drive I cut and paste all the other files to another drive. I don’t know if this was the right thing to do though. I am not sure about the undeleted feature, I didn't see that option. I used the wizard and maybe this is why I missed the undeleted option; what I did see was the file type. I selected music. I am running a deep scan now (37%). Prior to running the deep scan I ran the normal scan but I only saw a small number of files. –like 35- Do you know if there is a way to see what windows did when it check the disc for errors? If there is a file with this information, and where is it? Also if there is, how do I interpret it? Where do I find the undeleted feature? I am going to run that task next. That might be the solution because the drive does show 89.4gb of disc usage, but this might be the windows xp restoration file for the files I cut or some other stuff that windows like to keep in store. I don't know yet. or this is the data , it could very well be over 40gb and up to 89gb of wave and mp3s
  3. I have a 400GB ID hard drive made by Segate that has a problem with the 40-pin connectors because every now and then it will fail to detect on windows and I had to open the case to push the connector back in place (I replaced the cable but I got the same result). It was not a big deal but one day, this day I had the worse night mare come true. I was listening to music from a folder, then I try to open a video file but windows did not fine the path, and when I click on the hard drive letter I found no files at all. FUNY because I was inside one of the Folders already with another window. I was able to go up a directory but when I got the last dir (D:/) I did not see any file again. so I got scare and I turn the pc down and push the 40pin cable firmly again, like I've done for the last 4 years and while loading windows enter the automatic hard drive check (blue screen) drive it deleted some files (orphan, etc) and other stuff. When I finally loaded windows XP again, I opened the drive and all the files where back except the one I was in before turning the PC off. This folder had at least 40GB of Music. Some my own recordings and I don't have an extra copy. so now I am trying Recuva for fist time and my estimated wait time is 1 day stage 1 (3%). All fingers cross. The folder was (D:MUSICA). Any suggestions or comments will be must welcome.
